    My Father's Son is climbing the chart for me. I made a list after my first three listens and it went from #8 to #4. Just a kick ass tune.

    I'm pretty much the opposite on Sirens. I really like Sleeping By Myself. It has the same charm for me as Around The Bend or Let Me Sleep and although it came from a uke song it still feels like PJ to me. I was pleasantly surprised by it. Sirens to me doesn't sound like a PJ song although it has some good moments. For all the hype surrounding the track prior to it's release I was expecting something amazing but it's just not clicking with me and I feel like it's placement on the album just kills the momentum. Sad to feel this way about it but I think it is one of their worst songs to date. It is the kind of song I might come to expect from a band like Maroon 5. Let The Records Play is the other song I'm just not feeling. I can't put my finger on what it reminds me of but it's just too different to fit in. I'm sure I'll have a blast at any shows I'm lucky enough to attend but as far as the album goes these stop the flow for me.
    Like a book among the many on a shelf...

    Getaway: perfect, angry, awesome.
    Pendulum: been waiting for a song like this for years
    MYM: like I said, I love angry Pearl Jam
    Infallible: very cool, interesting, love the lyrics
    Lightning Bolt: soaring, great melody (though the production blows)
    My Father's Son: love the bass, vox and even that fucking weird bridge
    Yellow Moon: it's ok. a bit of a snoozer. not bad if I'm in the mood for it. love the bridge.
    Swallowed Whore: sounds like an REM throwaway from Automatic For the People. Not bad, though.
    Sirens: it's grown on me, but still a cheese fest. I think the lyrics are lame.
    Let the Records Play: a stupid song. the solo is good live. that's all it has going for it.
    Future Days: just terrible. the piano intro/outro is laughable. the lyrics suck. melody is OK, but the everything else ruins this song.
    Sleeping By Myself: should have been a holiday single. this song is a total throwaway and sounds like a Jason Mraz outtake. I loved the uke songs version, but this is just sad

    and I think the sequencing of the album is not very good. poor flow to it in my opinion.
