I think Can't Keep and You Are are better songs. Pendulum is definitely their strongest song since, though. No question.

    interesting.
i think riot act is the only record that has songs you could make the argument for. the 3 i'd choose are you are, help help and all or none.

pretty sure i take pendulum over all 3 though

I think in terms of since Binaural, that All Or None is the one in my opinion. But Pendulum is up there, I agree.

And Pendulum is already close to being played the same amount of times live as All Or None. :?

I would agree only replace SOH with Of the Girl or Rival. I'm a big fan of Life Wasted but Pendulum is a little more interesting and has a lot more going on. I also really dig Let the Records Play and Yellow Moon but YM is a little to recycled for me to say it's a "better" song that Pendulum even though I may like it a little more, and LTRP is a little to cheesy for me to say it's a "better" song even though I may like it a little more.

    smart man.

all or none would sound so fucking choice coming right after yellow moon during the sit down part of encore 1.

and play parting ways after that and you'd probably have to scrape minds off the floor

I would say Infallible is the best song they have had since Binaural.

I like Pendulum a lot but it doesn't really build at all and just hovers around. Sleight of Hand built to some amazing, powerfull choruses. Pendulum is fine the way it is but doesn't grab me like Infallible does or Sleight of Hand. I agree it is one of the best since Binaural but would put songs like All or None, severed Hand, you are, and can't keep above it.

if you ever see my shiny bald head at a show, let me buy you a beer.
i think something like that would go over. i don't think it would kill the crowd at all. you all or none with a rip shit up solo and parting ways with perhaps the best outro in the band's catalogue

its fun when we can talk about music on this board.

Wrong.. The OP is just plain wrong..

should I list the songs? just a couple? OK...

Man of the hour ( I believe this was after Binaural)
    LBC
    Save You
    Green Disease
    All or none
    Half Full
    Thumbing
    You Are
    Life Wasted
    Parachutes
    Come Back
INSIDE JOB!! (are you kidding me?, I should have just had a one song list)

    so I will stop there..

A plethora of great song between then and now.. and I dont even think Pendulum is the greatest on the new album..

It is indeed the most fun stuff to talk about on here, I don't really like All or None that much but I think it would be amazing live for Ed's voice and Mike's solos, and yeah the outro in Parting Ways is unfucking real, it would probably grab the attention of the crowed.

What's funny is this is a left over backspacer song... Would it have saved that album?

how would LB be without it?

Just more fuel for the debate.

And no, not at all best since binaural.

This thread has veered off, but as far as writing goes and performance goes, I love "I am Mine," I would put it ahead of pendulum. I like the song "getaway" better from this album, but lyrically, maybe pendulum is better.

    thoughts?

case can only be made for a tiny handful of songs but i think pendulum takes it

You must have read my mind, was thinking the same thing earlier today. But I was even going for best this side of Yield. It just feels different, mystical in some way, simple but yet genius, love the slow haunting tempo, the drumming and base do it for me I think.

This is the type of song that makes me feel there is still hope for PJ to create music that is actually better than the stuff that made me listen to them in the first place.

I would agree best since Yield, except for the fact that Inside Job was post-Yield. I LOVE Pendulum though.

pendulum is fantastic and is in a three way tie for first off LB with getaway and sirens. favorite still to be determined...

getaway is nothing ground breaking for the band, just a solid PJ tune. sirens is so damn catchy and easy on the ears, it's hard to not debate it as the best off LB.

i'd give pendulum a top three or four since binuaral (giving the nod to all or none, you are, unemployable).

Wow I can't believe some people are saying best since Yield, 1/2 of Binaural is better than ANYTHING on LB IMO, and I say that as a huge fan of LB.
  • I'm not thrilled by Pendulum at all. I actually skip the song after the singing starts. After reading this though, I will give it another listen. :?
