Stone doesn't seem into it anymore

Maybe it's just stone being stone but IMO he just doesn't seem to happy up there on stage...
Both Philly shows he kind of hid next to boom and made very little interaction with the fans or band.

Just curious if anyone else felt the same way.
Hope stone doesn't do anything Rash

No way, dude! In fact, I was going to start a thread entitled "Welcome Back Stone!" because I've been going shows since 2000 and have NEVER seen him so into it!

I just saw both Brooklyn and Philly shows and Stone was fucking headbanging and soloing and even running around a bit and often had a huge smile on his face. He's more energized and into it than I've ever seen and it was the talk of my friends and the people around us how good it was to see him so happy playing up there.

I tend to agree with the OP. I can't speak to what he was like in the PJ hay day. But I felt like back in '09/'10 he was much more into it than he seemed in Worcester or Brooklyn this year.

Having said that, who really knows whats going on with Stone. He's a mystery and no fan will really figure him out.

Cant wait to see what happens in Hartford after he gets wind of this thread :corn:

disagree i feel stone is in to it in a big way. previous shows i would have agreed but this time. the band seems to have found a common ground with each other leading to very cohesive shows. its nice to see.

are you talking about Stone Gossard- the guitarist? Pearl Jam?

Stone's got some serious muthafukin rhythm pulsing in those veins...a drop of that shit will make your head spin.

But I have to disagree with you. I was at Philly Monday night, and he definitely was into it. :D It.Was.Awesome.

He's defiantly into it just no so much with the crowed, he jams with himself and with the other band members.

We were on the rail right in front of him in Pittsburgh and my uncles quote was "Stone is all business" I agree with that for the most part.

Stone was more into it at Wrigley than I've ever seen him...well, minus London 2005, when he danced...

In Pitts I couldn't see anything - just backs of heads. But I was STONE SIDE in Buff and he had a strong connection and movement with the crowd! 8-)

Just because he doesn't run around the stage all night at 100mph or throw 1000 picks into the crowd doesn't mean he isn't into it or enjoying himself. Stone has his own groove, go check out his recent interview on Stereogum. He's into it alright don't worry about that.

If none of the guys in Pearl Jam were enjoying themselves nowadays they would call it quits, it's not like they are keeping PJ going because they are short of cash!!!

    +1

I feel Stone is having a great time! He gets into his groove and that's it. I thought it was cool to hear Stone do a lot of cool shit on the Lightning Bolt album that I thought Mike was doing. I have felt in the past that he wasn't into it, but this tour is completely different I think!
I've been fortunate enough to see Pearl Jam live.

    i respectfully disagree.

i went to philly two and was stones section (114) about 20 rows up.

that said, ive never seen him with so much enthusiasm!

head bobbing, head banging and goose stepping thru the WHOLE night.

i was sort of shocked to see HOW involved he was.

he even kept walking around ducking and dipping the lights when eddie was swinging the light globes...like thru ALL of porch.

    he was full of smiles.

youtube chan mfc172 (not mine) is one i just stumbled upon for anyone looking to see some philly 2 vids from almost my view...

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JxMQCWhnEi0

it was my first show since Bristow 2010 and im always ultra sensative to any and all of the bands encouragement or involvement, or lack there of, and they were ALL on fire!

stone is always the one im most concerned about jumping ship...

i was very excited to see how well they played and how much fun they appeared to be having.

i havent wrote any reviews yet, but i will say that now im even more excited for my next 3 shows :corn:

the band was in top form imo
