This band makes it so easy to justify going to so many shows
We all get the same reaction from people we know that haven't been indoctrinated into the church/cult of this band(yet;) when we tell them how many shows we've been to or are planning on going to this tour...the inevitable "aren't all the shows the same?" or "how many times can you hear Jeremy?" etc. But this band makes the argument for me every single tour because numbers don't lie My wife & I went to Brooklyn 1 & both Philly shows. We got 8 & 1/2 hours of music. 100 songs. Only 9 played all 3 nights. 12 songs played twice. FORTY NINE played once! Just unreal. Thank you thank you thank you Pearl Jam

I loved how last night Eddie was doing an interview with WMMR well after 6:30 and he had yet to finish the set list.
What other bands could even handle this.......
Funny, I get the first 3 responses all the time

Presuming the 9 songs played 3x are not included in the 12 played 2x, doesn't 100-12-9=79 unique songs? Anyhow yes, since 2010 they have been making every show singularly unique and potentially epic. There are no more generic, unremarkable shows anymore. The benefit if smaller, less-frequent touring, I guess.
You gotta multiply 9 by 3 and 12 by 2. So its 100-27-24=49.

"you went to pearl jam tonight?"
"yea"
"who'd you go with?"
"18,000 strangers"
"oh damn"
I'd seriously rather not talk about it at all to avoid those conversations. January is going to be a very confusing month for anyone trying to reach me.
Sorry for the rant, bit of a sore spot. This is another gem of a convo from before the tour started:
"how many times have you seen them already?"
"6"
"really? I expected you to say like 20"
"yea, that's cuz you're a judgemental asshole who thinks its weird for someone to enjoy something that you're not into." (ok I didnt say that. But I should have.)
