Took the train into Friday Night show @ Barclay's...parked my car in the lot, the sign for "vehicles with stickers" missing and not present.

So I come back at 2am and I got a ticket  Took a clear picture that shows the sign thats suppose to be there is missing(only the metal pole is sticking out)...and the nearest other one is 50ft away on the otherside.

Anyone have any luck in similar situations? I didnt have time as my train was approaching and this was the only spot(not that Ill admit that to the town  ) but do I have grounds?

Thanks

Thanks for the input...its only $50, but its clearly missing. I might as well fight it. Good thing its the local town court, so its not like id waste alot of time there...in n out

You should get out of it. Sounds like a fair appeal
  • Or do what the last guy that got a ticket by my office did.

He just taped the ticket up to the meter and politely wrote "No Thanks" :)

if it's not a hassle for you to go to the court appointment I would just print the photos you took and show up with them to fight it.

Not for nothing, but $50 sounds like it's not much more than what some of the lots around the Barclays center was charging for parking

It depends on the judge's decision on how obvious it was that you could not park there sign or no sign.

I know someone who got a ticket for parking in an alleyway, since there was no sign saying he couldn't park there he figured he was fine. He got ticketed, challenged it, and since the state law in general says you cannot park in alleyways that are less than xx amount of feet wide, he shouldn't have parked there regardless of a sign's absence and the ticket was upheld.
