does future days work for you in a live setting?

be honest.

i'm gonna say no.
i'm not the biggest fan of sirens, but it definitely works live and i've found myself grooving to it at the shows.
future days is a bit of a buzzkill. it doesn't feel like a pearl jam song. you have one of the great drummers of our time relegated to singing sappy background vocals, jeff is hitting like one bass note per measure.....not feeling it.
yellow moon though creates an incredible atmosphere live. totally works. it almost engulfs you.

I love future days, but I hate the organ sound live instead of the classic piano on the album. The classic piano sounds so great on the album, they should do that live.

I really liked it. I kinda chilled and talked a bit with my friend during it but IMO it was a needed break. A chance to sit down and chill as Eddie Vedder just sings. I liked the vibe of it. I would totally have gone to a show where everybody sits and just listens to Vedder sing songs like that. It was a buzzkill in a good way during a 3 hour show.

It was perfect to play right before he brought things back up with Do the Evolution. It's not like energy was lacking when he starts the next encore with Whipping into Blood

yea but there are so many "slow" songs they could play to give you a break from rocking the fuck out. yellow moon is a perfect example. all or none, parachutes, man of the hour.....the list goes on......

I thought it was great at Wrigley. In the arena setting I didn't love it as much.

I guess but something about it just worked for me. I like when Eddie does songs like this...just feels very personal and nice and a way different experience from most of the show. I liked it and yellow Moon as well.

During the Buffalo set it really showcased how good a singer Ed is. I'll admit I wasn't crazy about the song before the show... but when he sang it.. that was good.
