had a customer at work ask me this today. couldn't remember what year he bought his house. turns out it was august of 2001. a month before 9/11.

I would imagine it's not as deeply ingrained a memory for those that do not live in/have no ties to NY, DC, or PA.
Or someone who was quite young but if said individual was old enough to buy a house this wouldn't apply.
I mean I don't know, as I dunno anyone without ties to NY, as I would then BE their tie to .... :? I'm not caffeinated enough for this kind of thinking.

I'm in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I remember that day like it was yesterday (and I have zero ties to the states affected). But I do tend to feel more than most.
