It's a very great setlist and I hate to be a hater. But...if you take out oceans and sleight of hand (which I know are huge, and I have never heard them), this is a pretty standard setlist.
Maybe I have sour grapes cuz I'm not there and I know the crowd is something to be factored in. But other than maybe 2-3 (huge fucking) songs, it doesn't stand out to me. That's just the way I feel...
I dunno man, Crown of Thorns, Dissident, and SBTC don't seem to be "standard" either
This setlist looks pretty unreal

Dissident, STBC...those are great songs too, but they get played and there are others that are comparable (that could/have been substituted in). And like I said 2-3 songs, depending on what you've heard before.
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."

Setlist, schmetlist....Guys, having been lucky enough to be standing on the rail in front of Master McCready a week ago tonight in Pittsburgh, I can tell you that seeing the 2013 Lightning Bolt version of this band is a brilliant fucking experience, no matter what they're playing! I mean, when you're in the presence and something as "pedestrian" as, say, GO, is being rocked the fuck out of by these warriors, it barely matters if its rare or a staple or whatever. Plus, don't underestimate how cool it is to see the new songs being performed. Pendulum to open is mesmerizing; Yellow Moon too. And the studio version of Lightning Bolt is tame indeed. They turned that song into an epic riproarer live.
I love watching these threads, but having seen the guys a week ago, it makes the actual song choices a little less significant. They are refreshed, rejuvenated, and playing at the highest level I've ever seen them. Now BRING ON THE BOOTS!!!!!

Agreed. This band is clearly on a new level this year (far above any previous year, yea ok rip on me for that). But I think on pure setlist alone (not because I was there) Worcester 1 takes the cake. Again, going purely off the songs that were played. Not the number, not the performance, not the crowd. Just too many rarities there to be beaten so far. But it most likely will be...can't wait to see.
Holy shit guys, what do you expect? This is a great setlist. EVERY show they do is great. Do you want them to play Lost Dogs and Binaural in their entirety for you to be happy with a show? Jesus....just enjoy the music.
Dissident and STBC each played well over 150 times each... far from rarities...
I didn't call 'em rarities but to me standard is like tunes they play every show. I.e. definitely not Dissident and STBC. I don't consider them to be the same ol' same old because the frequency in which they pop up is less than a lot of said "standards"
So to me this setlist is incredible because you have quality tunes and enough deviation from the average set to where the song combination "works"

I agree, every show is an event in and of itself... And we are damn lucky our favorite band is on the road performing for us, but the setlist hype was out of control and needed to be brought back to a reasonable level. I was at Wor 2 and loved it, but when I came home and read the setlist report I was surprised by the comments... So take all of the comments with a grain of salt, even mine... WooHoo 7 days til Hartford... LOL

As I've (and others) have stated. This is a great setlist and I'm envious that I wasn't there. The band could get on stage and play alive 15 times and I'd be fine cuz they were there. I'm just saying this isn't an "amazing" or "epic" setlist as it has been referred to earlier. That's pretty much the only thing I was getting at. It beats many other shows and it beats any other band...I would assume those points would be unspoken on this forum.
All in all. Good set lit, sounds like a great show to be at, and I had fun in the setlist thread once again. I'll either see you at the show tomorrow night or see you on this thread, depending on how my ticket hunt goes.
