BK Ticket question (avoiding Craigslist scams)

So many scams going on on Craigslist, can someone with Ticketmaster tickets tell me the date of sale on the bottom left of their ticket?
So far none of the "sellers" have responded with photos of the serial numbers or an order number, but one sent me photos of 4 tickets with the date "27 July 13".
I assume it is a scam but want to validate at least this date, which I think is the day tickets went on sale.
Cheers!

Any idea what it's like buying tickets outside the venue?
thanks!

Typically, I'm either buying from someone going to the show (with an extra ticket) in which case I'll hand them the money once we're inside. Example - Tom Petty at Beacon Theater. He handed me the ticket, we walked in together, I paid the man. Piece of Cake
Second scenario usually involves a scalper. They'll say 'tickets, tickets, tickets' and I'll say, 'Only if they're real.' And he'll swear they are, so I respond with, 'Then go in with me.' Sometimes they balk, sometimes they don't. I've had guys stand buy the entrance, wait till it's scanned, and then I'll go back and pay them. I've twice had the scalper or his associate burn a ticket to go in with me (David Byrne Radio City Music Hall...he even upgraded me to 1st row for free...nicest scalper, I mean 'broker,' ever; Jerry Seinfeld at MSG).
Also, I've never, ever paid more than face with a scalper or with a guy on the street, so don't be afraid to negotiate. Seinfeld - $40 for $100+ ticket (and he used two to get me in!); Byrne - $50 for $150; Petty - $100 for a $150...
Only show I've ever been shut out of was Leonard Cohen at the Beacon - his first show in NY in 15 years and fakes were being bought left and right on the street for hundreds.
I'm buying a ticket from a guy on here. Same procedure. We walk in together, I give him the money.
Be careful!
