    Don't know him, don't care.

It is gross, but at least he wasn't pissing.

It's sad that the bar is this low.

I can see where the OP is coming from. You're in an arena/stadium, you're not outside and in a field or something. People are walking, dancing, and trying to have a good time, the last thing you want is to step in someone else's spit when it could have very well been avoided. Now I get that sometimes you step in beer puddles or some dirt every now and then, but sometimes that can't be avoided. It's almost the same as if someone was chewing gum and spit it out. It's one of those times where you have to think to yourself, "really? you're that inconsiderate to everyone around you?".

I also don't think she should have confronted the guy like some other member on here had suggested. While we all think that most Pearl Jam fans are all kind and decent people, you never know who you'll encounter at a concert. Remember that story of the guy at Wrigley? the guy who just started beating the guy to a pulp for some really small tiff? What would have happened if that had happened to her? I would feel so horrible.

To the OP: hang in there, not all people are so inconsiderate.

That's exactly why I started wearing shoes when I go to the big city.

It's kinda gross but not really that big of a deal unless he's spitting on people.

I think the guy is an asshole for doing what he did. But OP, it's a pretty dick move posting his pic on a message board.

  • The same thing happened in Buffalo by my daughter and me. The guy was spitting on the step; it was so gross and one man with a cane nearly slipped and fell on his spit. I am currently disabled and this infuriated my 19 year-old daughter. So she confronted him and his friend and told them how disgusting it was and suggested they go get a cup to spit in. She wasn't rude to them but they just left and went down to GA so I don't know if they stopped doing it or not. Some behavior is just so rude anywhere even at a concert. we all should be better than that and always remember those around us. Doesn't Eddie always tell us to "take care of each other." I know that's how I tried to raise my kids! I also raised a wonderful strong-willed independent daughter!
  • I have to say the person who did it sent me a very nice offline message apologizing. He basically said he was a little tipsy and now realizes how rude it was. It was pretty stand up for him to acknowledge it and say sorry.

Now we take pictures of each other, at the venue, and call each other out on the message pit?

Offer him a cup and watch the concert instead of him spitting.
    Alright, alright, alright!

  • I didn't confront him and ask him to stop because honestly, I was afraid of what he might do. I didn't want to get a face full of spit, or have him start a fight with my friend who was there. But yes, I was pissed, and disgusted. And I was RIGHT NEXT to him, and ended up moving back and away because I was disgusted.

So yes, I opted for public shaming. I stand by my decision. It is my way of saying 'Hey this was NOT COOL' without it escalating into god knows what. Ironically he agreed that it was RUDE (his words). And he apologized for being uncool.

Chastise me all you want but to defend such nasty, unsanitary and gross behavior boggles my mind.
