The weirdest inclusion of a Pearl Jam song ever, for me. is when Who You Are out of nowhere started playing in this swedish soap opera from the mid 00s:
It is something new in Sweden, but common in American series. Letting the music play a bigger role in the plot. Pre-existing songs, new or old, not specifically written for the series but used to set a certain tone. It can be about mood music in the background or pure live music that is integrated into the action.

The BBC show The Traitors has been all over the news in the UK during the past couple of weeks (I've never watched it), and the clip they played on the news this morning to reveal the winner had some familar music in the background. Then I twigged - it's the Metamorphsis track I'd heard so many times at the start of PJ gigs!
