Am I imagining things or is the album mix os Sirens significantly different to that on the video? I swear Mind your manners is a little different too.

On a side note, I have a guilty pleasure for power ballads but never thought it would mix with my love for Pearl Jam, turns out sirens proves me wrong... well played Pearl Jam

the video is a live take. or a mix of live takes.

and in my opinion VASTLY better than the studio version.
i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

The solo is defintely different on the album. It has more teeth. That dun na nuh dun na nuh dun na nuh goes three times on the record and just once for the video.

  • I like both versions. The studio is definitely more spaced out with guitar noises. I however love the powerballadyness (yeah I like power ballads... because fuck you that's why) of the video version. Would be nice to have it as a 7" or something as an alternate to the album version.

I was just going to create a thread when I saw this one. Clearly, the Siren's single is different from the Siren's video. But I noticed the version of Sirens on the album is slightly clearer than the Siren's single. The single I'm referring to is the MYM/Sirens download from my order history of the purchase of the LB CD. In WAV format. On the album, I can hear Stone's twangy playing (which I love so much on the video) much clearer and distinctly. As if the same Siren's track was re-mixed slightly to bring Stone's playing slightly more to the forefront. Is it me or does anybody else detect that?
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river
  • I think the different versions bring out different bits that Stone plays. He's promintent on both for me. Which is good because I love the Stone

All I know is that the 5 songs I heard in my dreams before the album came out all sound different (& better) on the actual album. ;)
