The Vault #3 vinyl is only $15 more than the poster retail! And both the poster and vinyl are hovering around $200 right now!
This is not lopsided by any means. :nono:

Well, I don't want to get into a match of wits, but I would venture to say you don't understand evolving markets very much.
The poster is hot right now because of the current demand vs. the supply. That demand will drop in the near future as it does for most all single show posters from tours. Especially once these show up in the shop. It's not unheard of for a single show tour poster to hold that value, but most of the time it won't unless it's from a big event like Wrigly or Alpine. I can pull up examples from espressobeans if need be.
Vinyl on the other hand is almost the perfect investment. Even ones that have saturated the market like Backspacer and LO10L, immediatly go up once they are sold out in the shop or the next album comes out and continue to hold their value if not sky rocketing in price.
Something like The Vault #3 that is limited to under 3000 copies (rumored) is something that needs to be held onto if you know anything about PJ vinyl values. Not saying it is going to be anything like Benny, but it will continue to rise, trust me.
So yes, you might be correct that the value of the two items is similar at the moment (more than likely on shady sites though), but I would be willing to bet as the market adjusts a little more to the things I pointed out, this won't be the case.
Last but not least. Two days ago, I bought a Pittsburgh poster from another board member for face value plus shipping. So that is my main point. People can each buy two posters at a show. There's those who buy two for the pure reason to flip them. And then there's people who buy them to help out a fellow fan. I waited in line for an hour and 30 minutes starting at 4:00 the night of the show. They ran out of posters about 10 people in front of me. I didn't get too upset becasue I knew I could score one and probably for face or close to face (just like my Wrigely Shuss), but when I saw this post that night when I got home, I laughed and thought to myself that I would never consider trading my Vault #3 vinyl for it even though I needed it desperately.

It just makes you kinda look like an overbearing, grumpy member of the trade police.
Glad you scored a poster for face.....I see this one staying sky high, though.

It happens with everything though. Its poor form IMO, but it happens and many people do not mind. It also is not really against any specific rule here.
I have the Vault 3 vinyl though and no way I would make that trade. Ill wait until 10c has the poster and buy it at $35.
I think it's all a matter of timing. Nobody minds when someone sells a PJ20 poster for $150-$250, or a Benny for $1000, or another sought after poster for 3x-4x over the original price.
Wrigley posters will be the same way, it is just frowned upon now because it was only back in July.
If the Pittsburgh poster stays hot, which it is amazing in person, then after the 10C shop sells out it will be acceptable to get over $100 for it.
Same with Vault #3, if someone went to offer to sell it for $150 right now, they'd get destroyed. But when it continues to go for over $150, $200, $300.......they'll show up here after a few months and nobody will care.

Let him post whatever he wants in trade for what he is seeking.
Members were also allowed to purchase 2 copies of Vault #3.
Maybe someone wants the poster bad enough to trade it.
Who am I (or anyone else for that matter) to say what is fair and what isnt.
I personally would not trade my Vault for this poster.
However, if I wanted the Vault #3 and had an extra Pittsburgh show print, I might entertain trading or selling it to fund my other purchase.
OP...go to eBay and sell your poster. You will get $150 for it. Then go buy your Vault #3 for $175 - $200.
All good in my book.
You do you...

Well, I am glad you picked up on the fact that my post was primarily directed towards you.
'Inspiring' is what you said initially and I quote 'Might as well just do it now then. Not only is this a lopsidded trade, but no one is going to do it. Have fun flipping and you should be ashamed of yourself.'
Have a great weekend and please think twice before publicly berating someone on the boards.

Well, you obviously didn't pick up on my sarcasm. Look, I'm not going to get into a back and forth on this outside of this last post by me on this thread.
At the end of the day, I stick up for people all the time who get picked on for putting out an offer others think is crazy. You can check my past posts for the proof. The only reason I said anything to the OP is because they blantantly said they are going to take the item and sell it on eBay, less than a week after the show the item was purchased at. That is the definition of flipping and no one can argue that. I'm shocked the mods haven't noticed it and locked this thread.
This small community is built on a couple of "commandments" and one of them is to not flip merch, especially posters and vinly. So regardless of the trade being lopsided, the true fault is that the OP has no shame in flipping. You may think you're standing up for them, but I'm just standing up for everyone that missed out on getting a great piece of merch at face value.

I am just as wrong as the fans asking exorbitant prices for Vault 3. Period.
I missed out on ordering Vault 3 when I had the chance, now if I want it, I have to pay the price. Same if you didn't get to the show early enough to get the poster. I'm glad you picked up a poster for face, can you point me in the direction of the fan I can get the Vault 3 vinyl for $50? (Also, can you show me where in the PJ rulebook records are allowed to be flipped for MAX profit, but posters are not)
As far as the "lopsided" trade, I'm assuming you missed the part where I offered cash to even the value. I'm not looking to rip anyone off.
Thanks for being a dick for no reason, to someone you don't know.
