Thats what 10 club is saying. They said the same for london and it was closer to 815. I'd still plan on being there for 730 though.

I'm so ready, This is my second PJ show & the last was in 2003 on the Riot Act tour. That's not to say that I'm a fair weather fan I'm a die hard fan. Ten F'n years & finally PJ is coming to near where I'm living again. Plus the Buffalo show is a Sat night of a holiday weekend, w/ no opener, sounds like a recipe for an epic show. I'm hoping all of the kinks get worked out in Pittsburgh & everyone is fresh & energized for Buffalo. First time w/ GA tix so I'm hoping for a great time.

First I was bummed that this show was before the album release but I regretfully downloaded a copy ant it should all play great live.

I'm hoping to hear Severed Hand, & Nothing as it Seems w/ an epic McCreedy wail session. If I kept going it would be a 4 hour wish set list.

. . . will that increase the traffic and make harder to get there? I am planning on heading down via cab around 4:00pm. What's the traffic like along the Buffalo Skyway (Highway 5) from Lackawanna to the venue around that time???

traffic getting downtown will be a breeze on Saturday. The only issue may be right at the arena. If you have a parking pass for their garage or are cabbing it I don't think you have a worry. There are several lots around that you can pay to park at as well.

I work in downtown B-lo & have a parking pass for a garage maybe 5-7 blocks away (easy walking distance or there is a free train you can pick up on main street) which is usually free on the weekends. It's at (under) the Main Place Mall & the entrance is on Pearl Street (no pun intended) which is a one way street. The entrance is on Pearl Street between W.Eagle St & Church Street. For events they may charge but it's "usually" free on the weekends & payment on the weekends is usually limited to something going on at the convention center. Its close enough to walk but far enough that you wont be stuck in a garage for an hour when the concert lets out. If you walk down pearl street towards First Niagara arena you'll come to the Pearl Street Brewery hosting a bunch of PJ fans & serving up craft beer. It's a good stop if you are in the area. Note that the train after the concert will be cluster F as well but it's an easy walk.

Just an FYI it may be free parking in any case I have a pass so it''s free for me. Just saying Pearl Street, Pearl Street Brewery.....it may be fate.

You will be fine taking a cab down there won't affect your trip in at all..... a building is going up right next to it. a couple of the entrances to the arena are blocked, but no traffic issue at all. I was down there last night for the hockey game

For the locals: Any idea what time the event lots open? I plan on getting down there pretty early but not sure what will be available. I've read a few things about free parking on Illinois Street. Any info on this? Thanks

In the city in general night & evening parking on the street is free. I'm not 100% on illinois Street but I'd assume its free if you can get a spot. Finding a spot however that close to the arena on the day of the show may be tough. Looking at google maps anything east of Michigan street may put you in a "questionable area" as far as neighborhoods go but then I a burbs guy. If I had to I would go more north than east if I had to choose (my opinion). There is a free train that goes up & down main street so parking north of the arena would be easier in that respect. There is a pay lot right when you get off of the highway on elm street & there are a bunch under the highway around the arena. The pay lots are generally always open w/ possibly the exception of the arena lot but that should be on their site.

This seems like a good place to ask this question...we are staying at the DoubleTree, so the original plan was to take the Metro (is that what it's called?) down to the arena. But with the single track work being done, is that still a good idea? And will there definitely be one running after the show? The Chicago subway was a nightmare after Wrigley, but that ended at 2AM...

Metro adjusts hours to accomodate all Sabres games, and most special events at the First Niagara Center. The station right by the arena is closed i believe, but the next one is just a short walk up. there won't be many people using the metro on saturday night just those going up the street to the bars after the concert. it is a mess down main st right now with the construction going on

The train (metro) will be running. Only 1 track is open to through past Chippewa St. after the Foos concert the train was a madhouse w/ both tracks going. I'd say don't be in a rush & wait out the crowd & get a drink. I'm not a 100% that the train runs all night but it goes till at least two AM.
