Anyone? Just found out about this :o

Will pay no more than $180.
Or I can trade for a copy of No Code vinyl :)

P.S.: PJ10 CLub members got an email about this?
I'm a member for about 5 years and never got this email about the pre-sale.

Thanks

The announcement was in the June newsletter. They're supposed to be selling the remaining quantities after all the preorders have been mailed out, so you might want to hold off a bit on your cash/trade offers.

I'm sorry you didn't hear about it. I hope you'll find one soon. And I'm so pissed that I see at least 5 on sale on that auction's site for 250$...

It's my understanding that the remaining quantities were sold immediately after the pre-order. They were pretty much gone by the next morning after the midnight cutoff. I could be wrong though.

There was never a sale post pre sale. It was made to order only, even though the original plan was to sell extras

I read on another board that someone who wasn't a 10c member was able to order on the final day of the presale when it was apparently open to anyone. Don't know if there is truth in this.

I couldn't find the June Newsletter anywhere in my Outlook and I missed out (have other months). I wish they would have had some left over and that would have cut down on the crazy prices people are asking. $160 is max I'd pay also if anyone is selling.

it was open to non-members last day. They say they gave everyone plenty of opportunity so not sure how else I missed other than missing the June newsletter. Santos said no extras are available for sale and there is no plan to make any more.

I don't know if that was the original plan, but the wording definitely could've been taken that way. As it stands no more are being put up for sale and those that received damaged copies are praying they allowed for fuckups.

I am all for creating the mystique of the Vault series.

But, it seems like they could produce a bit of an overrun based on the success of the presale.

I think we would all rather pay 10C to purchase these than the flipper.

It seems like 10C is playing right into the flippers hands by creating this mess.

    End rant...

    Vinyl is niche.
    Live albums are niche.

I find it hard to fault 10c for this. It was up for sale, in unlimited quantities, for a couple weeks. Check the site once a week or so and you'll be covered.

I learned my lesson and check the website daily now. I won't go more than a week without checking from now on. Painful lesson learned for this PJ vinyl collector.

I am not finding fault with 10c for this at all. Just making suggestions. They could easily have done a 20% overrun and sold them on the site. Thats all.

I was lucky to pick one up but was hoping for a 2nd to archive.

Agree with you and it discourages the people from buying to flip for profit.

I don't think anyone can really fault the 10C on how they handled this. Beautiful product at a fair price.

But...I do think that 10C should take some action.

It is obvious that the supply does not satisfy the demand for this item.

Wouldn't we rather have the 10C make the money than the flippers?

10 club has made their money. Some things are limited, that's the way it goes. For some things, the supply will never satisfy the demand.

How is that even possible? Everyone is complaining.. It was made to order!? So the supply directly reflects the demand! Everyone had over a week or more to place your order, it wasn't a limited sale!? Everyone that wanted one got one, if you didn't want one then, how can you complain now? I don't understand, I'm not trying to be rude but the supply most defiantly reflects the demand because this was a made to order item.

I am sorry Tinz. but you are 100% incorrect. I am not trying to be rude but what Economics class did you learn that in?

When demand exceeds supply price goes up. The prices on the secondary market prove my point. Who are the buyers at these $200+ prices? Probably a lot of 10c members.

I am not complaining, I was able to get my Vault #3 Vinyl. I am just making a point that 10c could do better.

The reason they do a pre-order on an item is because they don't want to get stuck with additional inventory, right? Well obviously, they mis-judged the overall market demand for this item.

10c should have either charged more for this item or produced more units. That is fact.

It was made to order!! If the demand was 10,000 units, then 10,000 units were pressed!!! What more could the Ten Club have done?? They basically said "Who wants one of these babies? We'll make one for everybody who wants one."

The issue regarding the demand is that there is demand outside of the 10C member fan base. That is the economic fact.

There is going to be demand from people who either aren't willing to shell out the membership fee who missed out or didn't know that there was even a 10C to begin with. There are "general" fans who might like this release that didn't know there was such a product available until they hit the after market.

As a solution, there could be a tier pricing system for members and non members. Members pay a lower price than a non-member. This would be a better way for 10C to enjoy capturing more of the market demand.

Don't believe this was an economic decision for the band, if so, they would have made it available everywhere... & of course there is going to be a demand from non-members...however, this was an exclusive, 10C MEMBERS ONLY sale...thats one of the perks for being a member. "General" fans are SOL...as it should be. Or else pony up like the rest of us.

I've never understood the whole idea of making something limited in the first place. Fuck, even Dimitrispearljam lost out because he forgot to order it. not all members check this site regularly. I think they did a really good job with the made to order presale; they finally listened to that and it was great. it's not often I am able to score a limited item.

but there's always going to be those that missed out, whether it be that they didn't check the site, they weren't a member yet, their membership lapsed briefly, etc etc.
