this film was arguably the best use of 3D I can imagine ... not gimmicky but just added to the suspense ...

outside of two plot line issues i had with this film - it was still a great film ...

Saw this in Imax 3D. :o
This was the most amazing film I have ever seen!
Bold I know but I honestly have never seen anything like this before.
You owe it to yourself to see it in Imax 3D or kick yourself later.

We will never go to space this is the closet we will get!

I don't know if it's the best movie I've seen but by FAR the most impressive!

Incredible and I will go again before it's out of Imax.

I don't see movies in the theater except for "Event" films.

Well this is more of a ride than a movie!!

You don't even have to like Sandra Bullock(not a big fan)
but she is Oscar material in this movie.

    Enjoy movies goers!!

Saw it today and it was AWESOME!!!!

It will lose a lot on any screen other than a 3D-Imax

  • Saw it in 3D today because of this thread. What a movie! It was unbelievable. And intense! I'm really glad I saw this thread and went because I probably would have missed it - and this is a must-see in the theatre. So thank you! :)

Saw this today in IMAX 3D ... Phenomenal movie, I agree it will lose a lot on any other screen.

I don't even think it would be much of a movie if you didn't see it in 3D.

But seeing it in 3D was pretty amazing.

To me it wont have the same effect on any screen smaller than the IMAX
And on a home screen or laptop or god forbid a phone it will have no effect

my jaw was dropped almost the entire movie- stunning
  • Yeah, this was a pretty badass movie in Imax 3D. but at the same time, its probably one of the best movies that I will never want to see a second time. Is that weird?

Agree 100%. The story and script were no where near the same level as the visuals. Seeing this movie on anything other than the big screen would make it an average film at best.

That being said, saw it in IMAX tonight and it was fantastic. Zero interest in seeing it when it comes out on DVD because the experience will be incredibly watered down. Peel back the layers and you have yourself a rather cliche film.

    Really??

Gravity was very good. The Counselor, on the other hand, was a huge disappointment.

I'd recommend checking out Captain Phillips in the theaters and waiting for The Counselor to hit DVD.
