I don't get why people who don't have tickets are allowed to get merchandise - if this is anything like Wrigley it's gonna be a chaotic mess.

These aren't going to be anything close to what Wrigley was. 90% of folks in Brooklyn won't even know or care what the hell folks are waiting on line for. These are not events like Wrigley was. Don't sweat it. There will be plenty. Do you relly thing the suits in Hartford are going to give a crap about this stuff?

I agree it won't be on the same level as Wrigley. But I guess we'll just have to see how it pans out.

Hopefully they only allow people with tickets to the show to get in line.

Or at least have a special line for ticket holders

Only problem is that the ticket windows don't open till 2:30 so there'd be no proof of tickets before that.
Otherwise, that would be the way to go (other than a pre-order when you purchase tickets ;) )

Does anybody know if they will hold back any merchandise for the people who can't arrive 12 hours early for a concert?

they'll sell stuff inside, the stuff outside will be mostly gone.

people who think that stuff won't be gone, think again.

Yeah, outside stock may go. But there will be plenty (or not) inside as normal. They won't overstock the outside then need to move it. But if you're getting there at 5, they'll probably already be closed anyway.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

hmm ... now that you mention GA, how is this all gonna work out?

What I mean is the 10club window to pick up tickets will be opened @ 2:30pm. For those with reserved GA tickets, there's gonna be a lot of pushing & shoving to get to the alphabetic windows then rush their way to the GA line that will get you into the arena. It's gonna be intense!!!

I guess it depends on how early people plan to get in the GA lineup. I imagine its only worth it to get on the rail... so it only impacts about 50 people :) The tickets come in pairs so if people start lining up before the ticket booth opens, then I guess 1 person stays behind to hold the spot, and the 10c member goes to get the tickets.

I'm not sure how that'll work in Vancouver. GM places has multiple access points to the floor. There's a main one, but you can also get onto the floor from the top of the 1st level.. there's a few access points. So I don't know how you'd line up for that.

I do think having the merch booth outside is cool... especially if you're in the pit. Carrying all the crap would be annoying.

    I with you on this!!
    See you down there.
We will be on the 9am ferry that morning maybe earlier?

Will posters be made available inside? I'm not getting into Charlotte until after 2P and plan on getting there before the doors open.

I totally don't agree with this and it's all the more reason that I'm officially skipping merch on this tour. After seeing how much of a GIANT CLUSTERFUCK Merch was at Wrigley I didn't even bother, and it ultimately made me decide that it's just not really worth it to me period.

Opening merch up early is only convenient for people who are staying someplace local, parking nearby, and have nothing better to do for 4-8 hours. It hurts the people that actually live in the same city as the show, don't take a week's vacation for one concert, and are planning on arriving near show time.

I know it's always been a "get there early if you want merch" deal, but it was nice to expect that you could show up reasonably early (when doors open) and still get merch. It was inside, it was for ticket holders ONLY, and by nature of most venues it was at multiple booths spread about the venue.

Now anyone of the street who is smart enough to know what's going on can show up early and get in line to buy as much merch as they will let you cart off (and make second or 3rd trip to another booth) and flip it on ebay, there will be one or 2 booths max meaning that there will be 400 people in line, and right when you actually make it up to the booth they will tell you that half the merch you wanted is already gone. This isn't helping the fans, it's fucking the fans over.

But like I said, I'm not buying shit this tour. It was the smartest decision I made when I went to Wrigley. I stopped and gave it some thought for a moment and asked myself "Do I really need another poster that's going to hide in a tube inside of a box in my closet? Maybe even one that I don't really LIKE to begin with? And wouldn't even buy if it didn't say Pearl Jam on it and have some collector value? I have better things to do when I visit New York City then stand in a damn line all day.

So yes, I'm making a whinny negative post complaining about shit, but if anything I'm taking the time to write this because I'm just sad that something I enjoyed and considered part of the experience has gotten so carried away and distracting for ENJOYING the day itself.
    I won't change direction, and I won't change my mind - E.V.

    seriously.
while i appreciate the availability, unless there are TONs of merch for all, kinda blows for those with jobs, lives, etc - who can't get there so early. i could theoretically get there early, but then what? unlike out of towners, coming from home, taking the train, so i am carrying my merch all day/night, and yes, would be nice to wait until my husband is off work and go to the show/pre-party together. while drinking all day sounds like fun :) not very cost effective, and yes, i have no desire to be smashed for the show, just not my way. there's no pleasing everyone, i realize, but it's getting a wee bit crazy what you have to do to score a tshirt and/or poster from a pj concert nowadays. haha.
    Stay with me...

Thanks. I figured that would be the case, but I just needed the reassurance. :)

I already made the decision that I am not going merch crazy this tour. If I can get a nice poster or shirt (or something else cool) fine. But I'm not having my heart set on anything. My prize is seeing these shows. I'm so happy about that right now soaking in the music and memories will be enough.

Really...omg it sounds so sappy, but it's soooooo true!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
  • Don't worry people and don't compare these shows to wrigley. Wrigley was a hugh 1 show event. THis is a tour. I was at London and they lots of goods outside. Line was like 30 minutes long and they had full stock inside the venue as well for all the non fan club people who don't know about it. I don't think getting stuff will be any more challenging than any other PJ show you have attended. See you in Pitt! :D
