Putting their beef aside, who has put out the better record this year?

Kendrick's 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'

or

Drake's 'Nothing Was the Same'

Which do you guys think is the better record?

I haven't had much time with the new Drake so it's hard for me to say. Just curious what you guys or anyone thinks.

I personally can't stand drake-i always give the guy a try (mainly because he's from toronto) but i just don't get all the love and respect he gets. I really like hold on we're going home-i think if he did more stuff like that then i'd actually really like him but i can't stand him as a rapper.

    Kendrick's album is a masterpiece-nuff said.

I hear ya. I never paid much attention to Drake but some of this new album has caught my attention, especially 'From Time,' I believe it's called and 'Hold On We're Going Home.'

I agree about Kendrick's album. So damn good. 'Money Trees' and 'Poetic Justice' are easy my favorite tracks at the moment.

But it's still better than Drake's. I think yeezus is better than both.

Strange. Everywhere I look online it came out October 22, 2012 but the year on back is 2013. Maybe it was re-released?

After spending more time with the Drake album, that has nothing on good kid, m.A.A.d city.

Don't personally care for anything Kanye does. I think he's a bit over-rated and being a self-righteous asshole on top of that never helps.
  • Kendrick all day every day over Drake. Good Kid is almost a year old now tho.

    J. Cole for the win with Born Sinner - Rap album of the Year for me.

Nice to see people are trying to listen to good rap music these days 8-)

  • Kendrick by far.

This is probably my most listened to album over the first half of 2013
    NERDS!
  • Kendrick for sure. Just a better story teller, and musically more diverse.

(I do, however, agree with poster above who said Kanye's better than them both. Both Drake and Kendrick have a ways to go to match Kanye, who's also his own producer; the guy's just at a whole other talent level.)

But for the OP, definitely Kendrick.
