Barclay's from Jersey

I have never been to the new Barclay's and was wondering if anyone had some info on travel, parking, pregame hangouts etc? Coming from Bergen County is it easier to drive or take mass transit? Any good places to hangout near the venue before the show? Any ideas / tips would be appreciated.

    I'm in the same boat as you. It's easier and cheaper to train/subway it.

    I'm driving to Secaucus, pregaming at a bar near the train station, then taking a train into Penn Station (10 mins). Then from Penn Station, hop on the Subway to Brooklyn (20-25 mins). Once I get to Brooklyn, going to rough it and hop into a bar for 1 or 2 more. Round trip will cost you $14. That's if you don't park your car in the lot at Secaucus. There is street parking right next to the lot.

    I am thinking the same thing. I hear there is no where to park near the arena.

    Definitely train and subway is the way to go.

    Agreed. I've been there two times so far. 9 subway lines stop at Atlantic Ave / Barclay's Ctr - right at the main entrance to the venue. You can pre purchase parking near the venue thru the Barclay's Center website, the closer to the venue, the more expensive it is, but it's much easier to just hop on the subway and not have to deal with traffic.

    ....and the closer to the building, the more traffic you sit in trying to get to it!

    We've driven in from Bergen County a few times & it's a pain in the a$$ (between traffic & parking) - public trans is your best bet.

    Well with a prego wife I think we will just suck it up and drive. I can't blame her for not wanting to sit on 2 hours worth of trains to get there.

    landing from peru to ny on 4:30 pm for friday show.

    no opener, show will start 7 30 as tc email confirmation.

    thinking taking airtrain and then subway to avenue h/coney island avenue on brooklyn and then barclays.

    From where I am it is about 55 min to Penn Station and about another 25 to Barclays. Count in the waiting and walking you are looking close to 2 hours.
