WISHLIST FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES THE PIEDMONT ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL AS BENEFICIARY OF OFFICIAL PEARL JAM FAN PRE-PARTY
CHARLOTTESVILLE - Wishlist Foundation, a grassroots nonprofit organization created by Pearl Jam fans, has announced The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) as the beneficiary of the official Charlottesville Pearl Jam Pre-Party fundraiser -- hosted by Sedona Taphouse.
Wishlist Foundation will be hosting events around each of the 24 Pearl Jam concerts on the band’s North American fall tour. Known as ‘preparty fundraisers’, these events draw fans from all over the world to one location in each city to support charitable organizations that the fans and band are passionate about.
“We are pleased to say that 100% of all proceeds from the raffle and auctions at this event will go directly to PEC,” said event organizer, David Dean.
Featured raffle and auction items will include Pearl Jam memorabilia, band-inspired art and jewelry. Local businesses are encouraged to donate items to the raffle and auctions, and a list of donated items will be posted on the event’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1402261359985307/).
Fans can start buying raffle tickets and bidding on items at 3:00 p.m. on the day of the show. The raffle will start at 5:00 p.m., and you must be present to win.
"We’re excited to have been selected as beneficiary of this great event" said Rex Linville, Land Conservation Officer in PEC’s Charlottesville office. "With the support of Pearl Jam fans, we’ll continue our work protecting land and promoting local agricultural throughout the region."
Pearl Jam will perform in Charlottesville on Tuesday, October 29th on the first leg of their fall tour. The band’s tenth studio album, Lightning Bolt, debuted in the Number 1 slot on the iTunes Download Chart this week. Billboard reports all indications show the album topping the Billboard 200 chart when first week sales are announced on Wednesday, October 23.
More information on all of the Wishlist Foundation fundraisers across North America and details for each city can be found at www.wishlistfoundation.org.
