Nirvana's, Led Zep's, The Beatles, The Pumpkins, The GreenDay 75's... there all coming out with them. Super huge money grabs - is everyone raving about these? Are they overrated? Would you personally "LIKE" to see Ten be reissued for the 25th Anniv in a little over 3 years? Right when we're all anticipating the No Code / Yield Dilogy of Doom Demos? How far is too far and will "we" the public ever be satisfied? On the same token, are original releases all they're cracked up to be? Expand your thoughts on this please. Go DEEP! It's a LOOONNNNNNNNG BOMBBBBBBBB to the endzone and I'm the one throwing you a frikin bone from the one yard line. (I'd like to thank Hoegaarden, Malbec and some fuckin German hazelnut)

Brilliant post of the week!

Depends on what they throw in the set?
I thought the Ten set was decent. It came with unplugged on DVD (But not given the proper treatement.. aka nirvana unplugged where they put the complete version and televised version on the dvd), replicas of a bunch of stuff incuding a casette tape, and a live vinyl.
Vs/Vitalogy set not too much. I felt like I overpaid just to get the live vinyl in that set. The rest I already had. It made for an expensive vinyl. I didn't think they tried as hard on that one.
I've been enjoying the Smashing Pumpkin reissues. At least you got some choices. I've been buying the vinyl that I didn't have. I didn't bother with the CD sets, but damn did corgan include alot of extras.
I guess it depends on how hard the band tries at giving you value for your money.0 -
I'm a whore for packaging so I love re-issues/anniversary editions.0
