One of my favorite authors growning up. The Hunt for Red October is one of the best books I've read.

RIP

Damn! He was good, read a couple of his books, R.I.P. :(

I loved the Sum of all Fears, then they made that god awful movie.

Oh damn. I really liked him. Hunt For Red October is one of my favorite movies and I loved the book along with The Cardinal Of The Kremlin. Patriot Games was a great movie too, better than the book I thought, same for Clear And Present Danger. I read some of the others and didn't like them nearly as much. He would get really bogged down in details and procedural stuff. Like SSN. It read more like a submarine manual than a book. And the Jack Ryan series kind of spun off into a direction I didn't care for. With him becoming President and all that, although I thought The Bear And The Dragon was OK.

And of course the Rainbow Six games were fun as hell.

Well to be fair casting Ben Assleck will do that to most movies.

I loved Without Remorse. I always hoped they'd make a movie from it. RIP Tom.

That was a great book. More story then techical filler then any of his other books.

I may pick it up again once I get through the other books on my list.

I never read that one all the way through. I checked it out from a library a long time ago and was halfway through only to find about 13 pages were missing. I took it back and I never got around to finding another copy and finishing it.

Read a lot of his books over the years, he actually made all that technical stuff interesting to this gal. :D

RIP Tom, thanks for the hours of enjoyment.
