He joined the Avett Brothers for a new song of theirs... I thought it was really cool.

Super pumped. Avetts have a new album on Oct 15th as well. Can't wait for that day to get here.

Thanks for posting this. I meant to stay up last night but forgot.

I will also buy this album on Oct 15. Before Once and Future Carpenter came out, I read an interview where Scott Avett said that the new album will be more rock oriented. Then they put out Carpenter, which sounds nothing like rock at all. Maybe this second album is the one ne meant will rock. The song you posted definitely jammed and I love it. The funny thing is that even when the Avetts switch things up, they still sound like the Avetts. There's an underlying core to their songs regardless of the genre they're playing, and they are by far the best songwriters out there right now. I'm looking forward to this album more than the PJ release, in fact, for that reason. Every single song of theirs is a gem.

I also love that the Avett Brothers tour all the freaking time. I don't know how they keep it up, but it's great to get to so many of their shows. That reminds me -- New Years Eve. Charlotte. Just went on sale this week. Bye! I'm heading to another site . . .

i feel the same way. although i am super pumped about new pj. well, at the very least i'm equally excited for each record. i've always secretly wished that pj would take the avetts out on tour with them, those guys deserve to be playing to 10 to 30 thousand every night.

They're on tour _ALL_ the time. They're way too busy to open for Pearl Jam. I'm sure they would take the opportunity if they could, but they are not lacking for sold-out audiences.
