  • I love Deftones, Koi No Yokan was one of my favourite records from last year. I like the Palms record too, in fact I must buy it at some point.

Yeah, the new Palms record is a pretty sweet collaboration. There are rumors of a second Team Sleep album too. cross your fingers!

Diamond Eyes is one of the best albums ever made! Love everything of theirs, Koi No Yokan is sick, but Diamond Eyes...just unstoppable.

Got some for Philly. For some reason they refuse to play Pittsburgh.

Saw them at SXSW and they still bring it. Some of the shows I saw them do in the late 90's are still some of my faves.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

If you bought a ticket to their upcoming tour, you get a free download code to receive their new album. I wish more bands did this.

Thoughts? After a few listens I'm not blown away. A few pretty good songs, but overall doesn't match the Koi No Yokan effort. Hopefully it grows on me.

Diamond Eyes is my favorite Deftones album; fucking stellar from start to finish. I really like Koi No Yokan, and the more I listen to Gore the more into I get, but new Deftones albums tend to take me a little while to get into. There are enough highlights for me to believe I'll love this record soon enough.

It's taken a few listens, but I'm starting to love the new record. I was a huge fan of Koi No Yokan so I had high expectations. The middle section is pretty incredible, Pittura Infamante, Xenon and (L)MIRL are my favourites at the moment, along with Phantom Bride - Jerry Cantrell's guitar work really lifts the song.
  • RS151862RS151862 Posts: 2,642
Phantom Bride is definitely one of my favorites.. Also think Hearts/Wires and Prayers/Triangle are really good. The album has been growing on me after a bunch of listens.

I'll play this game: 1) Diamond Eyes, 2) Tie between Around the Fur, White Pony, Deftones, Koi No Yokan, Adrenaline, Saturday Night Wrist. Too early to say for Gore, but I dig it.

White Pony and Saturday Night Wrist are my top two actually.

Just got White Pony, Koi No Yokan and Gore on vinyl. Keeping my eyes open for Diamond Eyes now.

The s/t album I've only listened to a couple of times and it never stuck.

Love Deftones, seen them about half a dozen times and own all their studio releases on vinyl. My faves have to be Adrenaline and Koi No Yokan.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me
  • I've been on a Deftones kick lately, and I found myself looking at the lyrics to find I barely know any of them from the last few records.  Such strange, dark, seductive, enigmatic lyrics.  Fuck, I love this band.
