Are these really the lyrics to Sirens?
I've heard this song 30 times and watched the video numerous times. What I'm reading on multiple sites is: "I always loved you, held you high above too." But I don't hear that or see it. I hear: "I always loved you, of you I am all true". Anyone hear something different

The lyrics - Do you know them all?
Is the fortune that you need
a) it sounds like it
b) it makes more sense lyrically

He's saying I held you high above (and) true. "True" in the sense that he uses in the uke song "You're True." I really don't hear anything else.
for the least they could possibly do
I read it as "held you high above (comma) true" like a shorthand or newspaper headline.
I don't know for sure. But nothing else really makes even that much sense.
for the least they could possibly do
I think the other 2 option make more sense, especially "too".
Except I definitely hear an "r" and the beginning of the word when Ed sings it, and I don't hear a "th." So in my head, that seems to rule out both too and truth.
My interpretation has holes too, I'll admit, but it's what I hear, so I have to make it work. I think he just couldn't find a way to fit the "and" in there without losing the song structure, so he went with shorthand: "high above, true."
for the least they could possibly do
I thought it was "true" but now that I really pay attention I think it is "too". I actually think "true" is a better word choice. "Too" is just a meaningless word to make it rhyme when "true" adds something and rhymes.
Crack me up!!
I hear "too", meaning also
I always loved you, held you high above too
anything like true or truth would diminish love's worthiness in my opinion
I know it means "also" but I meant it doesn't add anything to the meaning other than rhyming. NOthing wrong with that, but agree with Sleight of Jeff that true would be a good fit.
There is definitely an R involved.
