question (shooting threads up the keester)

what thread do i use as there seems to be many.




















a nearby little town had a shooting yesterday. a man was shot in the leg & was treated by folks in the neighborhood until ambulance arrived on the scene. he was found lying in the alley only after they all heard several gunshot. this was at 3pm. the thing that had people freaked out is that there is a elementary school 1 block west & school lets out at 3:10... a mere few hundred feet away.

my point here is we have 4,702 threads on shootings; atlanta shootings, chicago, detroit, small town wherever, blah blah blah shootings, denver, seattle, and so on

i read the other day someone mentioned that we could be using one fucking thread

another thing pissing people off around here is the fact that chicago gang bangers are closing in on our small iowa towns lifestyle. we are very curious who did the shooting, who was shot & why

if the mods here can place this thread into another, please do so. after a few minutes of looking i gave that up

    If you think Chicago is infringing upon Iowa then try living in Illinois and outside Cook County. It is sick what is happening to this State.

    I can make the Iowa border in about 2.5 hours on average. I'm about 40 minutes from Chicago. I'd say if the highways are clear and not much going on for road construction then less than three hours is doable.


    As far as Farmer John goes, if he were in unnecessary danger I would fully support his right to defend himself.

    the quad cities are north of me, they are turning into a fucking dump as well. another very good reason this here area has a growing gang banger scene is because of our maximum security prison.

    the gang activity around here has been slowly growing the last 30 yrs. i am not even talking about the mexican mafia that is very well established here in iowa; they seem to be low-key but behind bars though those dudes are quite nasty

    I agree that the Chicago gang issues spilling into Iowa. I work and live in Des Moines and it seems like every day there is a shooting and it has ties to some Chicago gang problem... And we are about 6 hours away from Chicago! :?

    the DCI (department of criminal investigations) ATF (alcohol, tobacco & firearms) & who knows else has been all over the des moines, iowa area for years now. here's why...

    i-35 & i -80 cross in des moines
    i -80 runs east & west, coast to coast
    i-35 runs texas/mexico border up north into duluth, minnesota

    another reason iowa has a illegal immigrant population & mexican mafia happenings. chicago gang shits like des moines

    take away guns, from the good guys....this ensures only the bad guys will have them. of course, they will only shoot the other bad guys.

    Another solution would be to use education to stamp out racism and all other anti-people isms, end poverty in America, ban assault weapons and implement more strict laws regarding gun ownership (including mandatory gun safety courses).

    The problem is, clear headed solutions kill on-line debates. :)

    There's lots of different threads because America has a staggering amount of different shootings, in different places, with different reasons and consequences.

    There's also a lot of different Pearl Jam songs, albums and concerts. Shall we just have one big Pearl Jam thread?
