The vignette with Mike playing his 12-string guitar along the railroad tracks reminds me a bit of "Give A Little Bit" by Supertramp, only it's in a different key.

Except for the Supertramp song is far more memorable.

PJ has become the new supertramp.

PJ and "Sirens"/ Supertramp and "Give a Little Bit". Whoa! That makes my head spin. Don't get me wrong, I love and respect PJ but I'm having a hard enough time accepting the direction this band is taking. What next? Abba covers?

Edit: I'm not trying to stir the shit and what I said is not meant to be a put down on Pearl Jam or Supertramp or Abba. A good friend of mine is a big Abba fan. Robert Fripp once gave Abba big kudos. If Pearl Jam wants to move toward a more commercially successful, broader audience sound (which is why the PJ/Supertramp comparison kind of freaks me out because it doesn't seem all that far-fetched to me) or something more far out like New Age Hip Hop Polka Music they've earned the right to do so. I'm just a bit puzzled by this latest move, that's all.

I just love how this song is getting labeled a "power ballad". :?
