I'm listening to the new KOL - and I'm a little jealous ...

Because I'm such a huge Pearl Jam fan. Take from that what you will.

Agreed. Are you jealous because the new KOL is better than what you've heard off PJ's new album - or - because the KOL is out already and you're listening to it (and not yet listening to PJ) - or - some other reason......

I've listened to 5 songs from Lightning Bolt repeatedly for the last couple of days.
I listened one time to KOL's Mechanical Bull in whole last night.
Mechanical Bull knocked me on my ass.
So far Lightning Bolt has nervously given me the "meh" expression.
I've been waiting since May 2, 2006 for PJ to knock me on my ass with a new album like they did from 1991 - 2003.
But I still loves my PJ, and I always will.
You're going to be waiting for the rest of your life

I understand. Disagree but understand
Cheers!
I've only listened to "Mind Your Manners", I'm just waiting for the album to hear it in it's entirety and the right order and all that. I didn't care for "Mind Your Manners" at all though, it just sounds goofy like "Ole" did to me. Pearl Jam haven't really "knocked me on my ass" since "Yield". I like all the albums since then, some more than others, but nothing that really blew me away. In fact I was extremely disappointed with "Binaural" when it came out, I had such high expectations after "Yield" that I'm not sure anything could have lived up, but to this day I find it OK at best. Sometimes I'll be in the mood for it, or the handful of songs I like on "Riot Act". "Backspacer" was nice on the first listen, I liked the different direction, but that wore off pretty quick and I find it pretty boring now. I've always really enjoyed "Pearl Jam" though, it's a good strong album from start to finish that I never have to be "in the right mood" to listen to like most of the other post-Yield catalog. I really like the "Riot Act" outtakes though, and I'm one of those that believes if they had included those and tweaked the tracklisting it could have been a fantastic album.
30 year old men are typically in a different state of mind and place in life then 50 year old men.
We will never see another Vs from Pearl Jam, just like KOL fans will never see another Because of the Times.
Lets see if KOL still moves you in 10 years (or if they're still together for that matter).

BOTT is my favorite KoL album by far. I listened to it an insane amount of time in the first year of its release.
