  • A family starving to death sleeping on the ground in Africa, or anyone living in poverty would strongly disagree.
:fp: Money allows people to have the freedom to do what they want. Having people that fill your life with love is also a great thing. I'd like more please. :D

I was referring to material possessions. Of course you need money for the basic necessities in life.

In some ways, I think this is very true. Several years ago I hit on hard times, even to the point where I live in my vehicle for a while. When I finally got semi-settled again, everything I owned (including my bicycle) fit in my Dodge van. I was much more free then. Moving was simple. I had very little shit to take care of or fix or replace. I also, however, had a boat load of health problems and psychologically it was a picnic from hell, but I was more free then.

There's a guy I knew a number of years ago who had even less that that. Everything he owned he carried in a knapsack. He seemed very content with his life. I always admired that, but never envied him.

I felt the shackles as soon as I signed a mortgage. Then the car!...thank god I drive an old paid off car now.
I try to keep it simple now, I know what you mean.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)
