Australian tour 2003

Just finished off a great but time-consuming project transferring all official boots from 2000 to now to my iPod so I'll be able to re-listen to the shows on shuffle everywhere I go. I've noticed that the Oz shows from the Riot Act tour seem somewhat lackluster. The crowds are tame and the band makes lots of mistakes. Though the shows are still better than what you would experience from any other band, the band seems strangely laid back and Ed's not at his best vocally either (something that would be fantastically improved later on that very tour). Any thoughts on this?

    Sloppy shows with minimal rehearsal and lacklustre crowds. I went to 3 shows on this tour. Adelaide was the pick of the bunch. Overall, their worst string of shows.

    Japan straight after, however, was epic.
    Come to send, not condescend...

    I'm going through the entire 2003 tour and looking back, the Australian shows feel more like warm up shows for the 2003 US tour.

    I thought the Melbourne show where they debuted "Know your rights" was great. That was the only version they did that I liked. Subsequent versions were hammed up. I think they followed it with Breath. So I would say that was a strong show. There was such an energy with that KYR. I bet they were nervous as the song is so unlike what they are used to. It came off so tight and angry. I think Breath was an insurance policy in case something went wrong with KYR.

    I just wish i had the whole set of 2003 Bootlegs to listen too i just have some shows i saw and some others. that are around on ebay ive bought but i would LOVE to OWN them all.for it is my Favorite album and boots
