What's next with Soundgarden?

Does anyone have any guesses? Another studio album, tour, live album?

Of course it won't happen for quite sometime cause Matt has his hands full with PJ at the moment all the way into February of 2014 if not further.

    Me too :D

Hopefully after PJ's new album and tour (which will probably last at least all 2014) then they'll get another album going. I really enjoyed King Animal and I hope it encourages them to make another one soon.

  • It would be nice if Soundgarden did a tour next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Superunknown. The idea of a band celebrating an album anniversary by playing it in its entirety sounds too gimmicky though. Plus, it may not happen. I am hoping for Pearl Jam to play Toronto next year.

It was the last time they played there which was a crazy long time ago. Saw them at the Academy on Superunknown tour and International 2 on badmotorfinger. If they're in Manchester then so am I!

24 hours to go for me!

I can't wait, this is the one big 90s alt rock band I missed the first time around, 15 years ago it seemed like I'd missed my chance, I never thought 15 years later i'd be about to get a train to go see Soundgarden!!
  • Really looking forward to the show tonight in Manchester. They've definitely been away too long.

  • Great show tonight in Manchester. Setlist very Down On The Upside heavy but no complaints. Ben throwing his bass was hilarious and I want that "Matt Fucking Cameron" shirt.
Happy up here in my tree
  • Amazing gig, thought the band were really on form. Matt is a totally different drummer when he drums for Soundgarden, he thrashed the shit out of his drums last night...

Yeah he is. Found myself watching Matt a lot cos he's just awesome. SGs drum parts are more complex than most of PJs stuff and Matt just drums the shit out of those songs. Nice to see him a bit closer too. Great gig all round.

  • Great gig in Brum last night, great setlist, wasnt really familiar with King Animal but definitely am going to revisit it.

Ben trashing his equipment was very amusing, I know its well documented, does he not like playing the bass or something? Bet a bunch of their earnings go on replacement guitars lol.

He looked either bored rigid or thoroughly pissed off, many other bands wouldnt have carried on without all members playing but am glad they blasted through JCP with the roadies scurrying behind them trying to fix his amp that he pushed over.

Chris' voice was the best I'd heard it, seen him a bunch over the years with Soundgarden first time around and then audioslave and solo. Great screaming .

Birmingham was amazing, I too was unsure what was going on with Ben. Did he break the amp himself, or did it fail first? Why did he hand his bass off to security? Why did he look so pissed off for the rest of the gig (it happened near the end fortunately).

Amazing setlist, they played something like 6 tracks of KA, very brave! I love the album personally, so that was great for me. I thought Chris almost lost the crowd when he called Birmingham a "dreary British town", but I honestly think after a little reflection, most people realised he was probably right. Although it is a massive city, not a town...

I got blocked for a bit by a guy who was so huge it was unbelievable, he looked like Chewbacca! I'm 6'2" and I couldn't see over his shoulders
  • Awesome gig in brixton last night - though the crowd was very tame and the O2 rules sucked as the guys made very clear how annoyed they were by the 11pm curfew - and the no crowd surfing signs at brixton academy one of the most iconic music venues for rock was the weirdest most screwed up thing ever. :nono:

Anyways back to the music and here was the very very awesome set
