4) Around the Bend
5) All Those Yesterdays
6) Parting Ways
7) All or None
8) Inside Job

    My faves would be:

    1) All those Yesterdays
    2) Release
    3) Indifference
    4) Parting Ways
    5) Inside Job
    6) All or None
    7) Around the Bend
    8) Stupid Mop
    9) The End

Edit: Future Days (based in Wrigley) would rank below Stupid Mop

Inside Job by miles and miles, though the studio version isn't what it is live as long as Mike's guitar has more distortion than gloss on it.

    7) Around the Bend
    8) Parting Ways
    9) The End

this is my ranks strictly as album closers
if we are talking about live versions however, release and indifference take the cake for me, with around the bend and parting ways closely following

For Vitalogy, I always count Immortality as the closer, even though it technically isn't. It's the last real song on that album. Stupid Mop is this sound collage, artsy mumble jumbo at the end. As for my favorite closer on a Pearl Jam album, my vote goes to Inside Job.

Indifference and Release are the two standout closing songs to me.

i have to say all those yesterdays, only because of a personal significance to the lyrics and tone of the track itself.

Release, All those Yesterdays, Parting Ways, Indifference, and Around the Bend (Honorable mention All or None)
But I can do without the fucking typwriter at the end of Binaural...always scares the shit out of me when I have it cranked up.

    4) All Those Yesterdays
    5) The End

My vote is a three way tie:
    All or None
    Around the Bend
    Inside Job

It's Release, but since I now consider Release to be an opener instead of a closer, due to its use in the live shows, then the answer is Indifference.

I am afraid that Future DAys will be the weakest album closer, except Stupid Mop.

After seeing Release opening in BA, I cannot pick anything else for the best.

Difficult. Though, anyone who would put "Inside Job" at the top of this list is crazy. I think it's a bit of a bore. I also can't stand it live. Really takes the wind out of a show. That intro. SNORE. That said, I love "The End." Yea, I know my credibility just went out the window. I find it to be one of the stronger songs on what is a particularly weak album (in terms of Pearl Jam).

"Parting Ways," however ... now that's a closer. A real triumph in the Pearl Jam catalog. That's up there with "Release" in my book.

Well, as I look at this list, I think "Inside Job" is really the only less-than-stellar album closer. Wasn't huge on "Future Days" at Wrigley, so "Inside Job" might not look so bad in the coming months (I'm really excited for LB, though ... loved the other songs).

Of course, "Release" is the best.

    Release for sure.

Definitely not Stupid Mop. What a turd.

I'd say Immortality is 2nd on my list since turds arent songs. To me Vitalogy ends with Immortality. I was just imagining how great it would have been if Hard to Imagine, Chicago cab version, if Hard to Imagine was the Vitalogy closer and Stupid mop was gone.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

My feelings aren't so strong, but I kinda agree with you. Inside Job is incredibly overrated in these parts. I don't think it's horrible, but I think people base it's epicness more on the clock than the actual song.

I do think about every closing song is among the best on their respective albums. And if we're taking of Foxy and Stupid Mop, Immortality may top the list for me.
