If someone bails at the last minute what do you do?

I had someone bail on me last night about 2 hours before the show as I was driving down there. I had 10c tickets. I absolutely, positively would NOT sell to a scalper, in fact I'd eat the ticket before doing that. But is it acceptable (and legal) to sell this ticket (at face value of course) to someone who's obviously a PJ fan (preferably someone in 10c)? If so, what's the best way to go about this?

Yes, it's legal and in my mind that's perfectly acceptable as long as it's face value. Obviously you'd want to find a good fan....and this message board is a great place to find someone. Btw, if you've got an extra to San Fran on 7/15 then you better believe I won't be bailing.....I booked a flight over the weekend and now I'm trying my hardest to get a 10C ticket before I get out there.

I would have definitely used the board for something like this (and have many times) however in this case I was already in route to the show so it was too late for that. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't committing a major faux pas. I'd be curious to know what techniques people have used to differentiate the true fan from the scalpers. In most cases it's pretty obvious, but not always. I just hung around the 10c window and looked for people that were fans that seemed to be looking for an extra. I didn't want to announce it though like the scalpers were.

BTW, I am going to SF2, along with LA2, SB, and Gorge but don't have an extra for any of those.
