    Me as well.

did posters not sell out back then?

i didn't know about the 10c or the posters... then again i hadn't developed my passion

    if i had known then..............
  • Thing is I had bought one from the show. It got lost in a move and appears the replacement is going to cost me!
  • Today is someone's lucky day. I have one for sale that has been rolled in the tube since I got it at the show. Looking to sell it as I need some funds to frame my other posters.

Nope... You could buy any poster in '93, '94, '95, '96, '98 & '00 after the show. I remember all my friends laughing at me cause I was buying posters. No one cared about poster till Ames Bros. started putting older posters on their site at inflated numbers in approximately 2000. Then all of a sudden EVERYBODY wanted posters. That's about the same time PJ & Ames Bros threw a shit fit of anyone else beside them asked for inflated money... It's such a joke!

If you didn't care about getting one then, why do you want one now? Cause they're valuable?

  • I thought $350 was fair for both the buyer/seller. Not cool there are sites asking for $600. Would have framed it myself but kept doing the newer ones first. Needed to get some $$$ back as they are usually $200-300 each once you start adding mattes.

    $350 is a steal...
  • $350 is a great deal for sure. I just would be concerned about how long its been in the tube. Might not be able to get that thing straightened.
  • No need to worry, had another PJ poster in a tube just as long and it looks as good as new framed.

Good deal for both involved. It's going into good hands, will get framed and hung.

I wouldn't be concerned. I just framed my '96 Randell's poster and it was in a tube for just as long, and it framed out beautifully. The '96's are much thicker too, so a '98 Boston should be fine.
  • I have one of these too, am considering selling. There are pin holes in each corner, otherwise excellent condition (no creasing). Has been in a tube since 1998, with one brief period tacked to my wall a very long time...

PM me if you're interested, I'll have to do a little research on a fair asking price.
  • Thanks to those who have PM'd me on this. I've never actually sold a poster before, so I'm gonna take the time to see what sorts of offers I get, and what seems to be a fair price based on past sales of the same poster. Sit tight, and I'll check back with y'all in the near future.
  • Sorry for the late follow up on this, I've just moved to a new city, and finally had a chance to pull this out of the tube today.

You can take a look at the poster for sale here:

    https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/ ... sp=sharing

As you can see, there is a little wear & tear -- pin holes in each corner, plus an additional small hole in the lower right corner (I don't remember that being there, damn).

There's a little bit of scuff/creasing under the "Boston -- Great Woods" text, and a little bit next to the flowers on the right border of the poster. There is what *appears* to be scuffing on the black print, most noticeable in photo #4, but this seems to rub right off. The parts of the poster that are black have an almost chalkboard-like consistency, and it really appears that these markings rub off with very little effort, though I'm not about to start scrubbing the thing right now.

If this winds up selling, this would be my first poster sale. I don't intent to get ripped off, but I also don't want to rip anybody else off, either. Any help with shipping protocol would be appreciated, too.

So now that you all can see the condition, what are your general thoughts on price? I'll keep my eye on PMs.

As for my legitimacy (will I follow through on the sale), all I can say is that I know I don't have a very high post count, but I have been on the board foreeeever...Long-time lurker, occasional poster. You'll see that many of my past posts are related to my previous career in the record industry, and I've got a fan club number of 106xxx...I'm a dependable dude, no Lance Mercer sales here ;-)

I would say an asking price somewhere in the $200-$250 range would be fair for all involved.

$250 seems very fair given those pinholes should mostly frame out if someone wants this on their wall

That's helpful info for a newb, thanks!
  • I had gotten a number of PM offers prior to me posting the link to photos. I'm now replying to the offers starting with the first highest bidder (a few had all offered the same price). If after seeing the photos, he's not interested, then I'll move on to the next highest bidder. Does that seem fair? And hopefully doesn't go against the sale/auction policies of the board.

That essentially is the very definition of an auction, so you won't be allowed to do that here. You'll need to state your asking price and go from there.

Got it. I don't want to ruffle any feathers. I've got a potential sale in the works. If it doesn't work out, I'll post a firm price and go from there.
