Ding. Try again.
GODDAMNIT.
Why can't MY last name be STONER?
If I opened it now would you not understand?
Part of the reason I posted it is that I did not think Grizzly hunting was allowed anywhere in Canada, especially trophy hunting ... shame on BC or any province that allows this to happen :nono:.

I tend to think along these lines.
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
Totally agree ... but many a deer hunter use salt blocks all winter near their tree stands so once the season starts the deer jus keep coming. Not so sure todays hunters are really hunters anymore.

Now I have paraphrased and likely butchered the joke ... but the general idea is there.

Yep
Very true. They feed the deer all year, then blow them away during hunting season. Almost like shooting the cows in your pasture
I'm not sure they ever were, humans have always used technology to give themselves an enormous advantage over the animals they hunt. I don't have a problem with people hunting their own food, but claiming there's any "sport" in it is ridiculous. Anyone using a gun of any description is giving themselves a virtually unassailable advantage.
I had a friend come back from a safari. This friend had several pictures of many animals on the African plains. As well, this friend had several pictures of themselves smiling and holding a dead animal that they had shot with their big gun.
Camera? Great idea!
Gun? Why? Why the need to shoot a zebra? Or antelope? Or whatever?
I get hunting. My father was an avid hunter and fisherman. I accompanied him and loved it as a youth. He gave it up because he felt immoral. I didn't like that idea at first because I was young, selfish and stupid. I eventually came to understand his reasons though and I adopted those same values.
I understand a hunter's mindset and because we used to hunt... it's difficult for me to pass judgement on these people. But I cannot understand a trophy hunter's mindset. It's cold, narcissistic, and cruel.
I find hunting for sport completely disgusting.
