Miley Cyrus would not need to use a remake song on her album!

Yeah, PJ should take notes from her play book. Next thing you know we'll have Lady Gaga up on stage with PJ in Brooklyn and performing a dollar dance on Stone while he's playing the intro to Alive.

It worked for Eddie's Setting Forth song from Into the Wild - that sounded superb with the whole band behind it.

To be fair there isn't a difference between Setting Forth on ITW and the band playing it live. Sounds exactly the same!

For me it had more punch but yeah i guess there wasnt a massive difference. Will be interesting to hear what Sleeping by Myself sounds like. I love the song as it is regardless.

Wasn't Brain Of J. written way before the Yield sessions began?

yea brain of j was played live (with different lyrics) as early as 1995

Well...this is not a good sign.... when they have to put a remake of a Ed solo song on the new record.
I saw that " sleeping by myself" is one of the 12 songs....yikes.

Wait, so you're judging the new album based off of ONE song? and it's a version of a song that you haven't even heard yet? Wow, talk about being a complete asshole....

  • I'm just disappointed they didn't include a couple songs off of Moonlander. Stone is probably pissed. Maybe the next PJ record.

i imagine this is on the album simply because eddie wanted it to be. im sure there are plenty more songs.. but as that recent BoB interview disclosed "if ed wants it, its gonna happen"

i think its as simple as that.

unfortunately, i dont think any of the other guys have that sorta pull in the band anymore.

  • You know what I hope?? I hope it is the SAME IDENTICAL UKE VERSION AS THE SOLO RECORD!! MOST of you fucking trolls have NOTHING better to do than come and rain on everyone's parade. "the band have no creativity" "why waste a spot on the record with an old song". This bored has turned into a fucking childish circus to see who can garner more attention and spark the biggest backlash from the folks who are looking forward to the record no matter what the songs(don't worry OP, you didn't win a prize). Opinions are one things, but MOST of you are not giving an opinion, you are coming here and calling out the band and being downright ASSHOLES about the whole thing. IT IS MUSIC PEOPLE, and THEIR music to boot. We are truly lucky as fans that to US, they are still viable and mean something to US, and I do believe that we mean something to them. The negativity surrounding everything that is this band as of late has really just been embarrassing. Whether it be the cities not getting a show, the way they revealed the tracklist, or something like this "title", and lets be honest, that's ALL that it is is a title of a song(which we ALL know will be significantly different from the original), you are all truly a real sad bunch....And don't think for a second that I am worried about being call the same, or wont enjoy reading your posts, calling me names back or whatever you need to do to feel justified since I am wronging you so badly. Difference between you and I, is that I have SOME level respect for the band and the art it turns out, MOST of the fans who come here and go to shows, and a little bit of cooth....whereas most of you....do not...tsk....tsk....

Neil Young used the same song twice on at least two albums and no one accused him have lacking material (at least not to my knowledge), so let's just wait and critique the album's merits based on what we hear, not conjecture.

    This!

It has become the look-at-me-whore topic. Not to mention that a simple search would reveal 19 other threads, but in true attention-seeking fashion, each troll starts their own. And why oh why is it so hard to remember that Ten AND Backspacer had ELEVEN tracks thus making this "desperation" argument beyond dumb.

Does anybody truly know all the song titles on the Album,Or is this another
jump to speculation. Run Rabbit Run! I myself am going to wait for my C.D
And pray that I can memorize most of them before the show. ;)
  • New album is gonna suck. Just like every album released after Ten :P
  • I would hope that most fans would be super excited that new music is being released, a tour is coming on strong, new methods of marketing/social networking are being implemented, sustainable shipping protocol has been put in place, cool new merch is being created, obvious granting of song requests, kick ass collaborative artwork and the effort to make tickets fairly available to everyone.

I really can't imagine what else we could want from them. I for one am highly appreciative, as no other band that I currently listen to does all of this for their fans.
