The risks people take...

It's surgery. There are no guarantees. People have unforeseen reactions to general anesthesia. Don't mean to sound harsh, but this poor girl and her family chose to ignore the possible complications and proceed.

Hope she gets better.

  • The leap of faith.

Just trusting those providing services to provide those services. I think about the leap of faith every time I get on a plane and consider the pilot. "Is this guy well rested? Is he hammered?"

I don't think any woman should undergo a breast enhancement surgery. For that matter... outside of accidents which leave people intensely scarred... I think people should leave well enough alone- no nose jobs, lip jobs, chin tucks, etc. If people wish to lose weight... then diet and exercise- don't get big chunks of fat removed from you surgically.

No judgements though- each to their own. For the record, fake boobs do nothing for me. That cute gal was great the way she was. I hope she recovers too.

There are many worrisome items in this article.

18 years old? If this was truly for cosmetic reasons, then jesus christ. I get it for reconstructive purposes - several women in my family have had it after undergoing single and double-mastectomies. But man...such a young age to go that route.

That said...ANY surgery involves these risks, no? Isn't that why we sign a shitload of forms and waivers before going under?

(and all THAT said, I'm with Thirty...fake tits are just that. Fake and at times clownish, and therefore - to me - unattractive. Kinda like the botox-y face and bee-attacked lips so common in my city :P )

I don't know who looks in the mirror and thinks they look good. I used to laugh at old "stars" who would get it done then I had a gander at Lohan..........JESUS!

  • It's bad enough when something goes wrong during a surgery that's necessary. This was not necessary surgery and the same risks apply. I have an arm that needs fixing via plastic surgery, but I keep putting it off. Such risks are sometimes not worth the procedure. I personally will never understand the need to have elective surgery for superficial reasons. And she's so young. What were her parents thinking?
