So, Why Do I even post here...
I am not a political person, I don't and haven't watched a single news channel in 10 years.(including local news)
I don't vote
I don't listen to talk radio or FM

I tend to play devils advocate or argue the other side just to try and prove people wrong or show their hypocrisy whether I agree or disagree with the topic. I just argue the opposite side of the "majority" or person.

I did not renew my Ten Club Membership (So i guess I can post here when that expires)

I try (and have for the most part) to surround myself with the things that make me happy and revolve my life around my passions.

I am going to stop posting here, (I know you don't care). Mainly because this isn't happy place (at least for me.)
I don't understand the political divide that causes you to accept and validate not liking another group or person.

I guess I truly don't understand politics and since I am not apart of it in anyway , probably shouldn't post in a political forum...

Finding what makes you happy is a good choice, Blockhead. Playing devil's advocate for the sake of argument is seldom fruitful.. There are other ways to engage in useful conversation- it's your choice. Personally, I don't mind having my ideas countered but I don't give much heed to being called "clueless", or my ideas "sad", etc.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

    well ...

    a) because not everything is about politics but yet you make it so
    b) you would do well to argue a side if you actually did so from your own thoughts rather than cut and paste jobs from inaccurate sources

you claim to try and prove people wrong but you do so by taking up a position without disregard for the facts ... you've been called out on it multiple times and yet you still do it ..

last week you posted AGW was BS and now you post telling us to support the ideas of a guy who fully believes in AGW ... but that was precipitated by the false accusation that no solutions were being offered when for years, plenty were ..

if you don't watch the news and you don't believe in politics and you don't have a environmental science degree - then how do you formulate your opinions on AGW!??? ... a topic you have been arguing against for years here?

Instead of looking to pick a fight (play Devil's Advocate' for the sake of sport)... I think it is better to speak from the heart and reflect your beliefs and value system in sincerity.

For most, some things need to be debated while other things need to be agreed upon. If you are constantly at odds with everyone... it should be no wonder that this place makes you unhappy.

Be honest with yourself though: when you call people stupid and mock them for what they have written... you are not only being confrontational, but you're being obnoxious. You shouldn't be surprised when people attack you for poor manners and you would do well to admit when you are wrong or offer apologies if one might be warranted.

Instead of lamenting the experience date for yourself here... do a 'control-alt-delete' and bring a different tact to the forum. You'll find it much more enjoyable. You'll also find people here are very forgiving and appreciative of change efforts. As outspoken as anyone might be and differences aside here... I truly think all who visit and contribute are likely cool people.

Yup - this up there especially.

Many things in life - especially an online forum such as this - are what you make of it, what you bring to it, and how open you are to understanding (even trying to understand) another perspective.

Blockhead, I think you are a smart person with some interesting views on things. I think it's good that you think outside the box. I just think that often your approach doesnt do you justice or help your points here- it often hinders your presentation of ideas. If you just focused on the ideas, leaving out the condescending names and accusations, you'd probably get much better discussion. And as Brians said, "playing devil's advocate for the sake of argument is seldom fruitful"

I post because I'm hoping that one person will change. No, not anyone in particular; just one person.
