With mayo then, or burn ointment?

    Cheers.

Tuna melt action to dissipate boringness?

    Whoa!

    You're one bold motherfucker :P

    I'm a sucker for a good melt.

In my neck of the woods, take a fat slab of sourdough smeared with tuna - the good deli kind - top with thin tomato slice(s), then some spicy jack or cheddar.

Shove under broiler for a couple minutes.

Let that shit bubble and brown and tempt you with the tuna-y aroma.

Remove but don't bother letting it cool.

Pair with Campbell's cream of tomato soup. <
    this is key

Suck it down with a vengeance.

    Done AND done.

But you can have some hot tuna (god that sounds bad - but not as bad as the hair/glasses combo :P )

When I saw this thread, I thought, "Oh I love a tuna melt." while picturing this TunaMelt_RecipeShots_landing.jpg in my mind. After seeing the Hot Tuna pic, though I have lost my appetite for the sandwich. :fp: :nono:

People who think fish and dairy don't go together never tried a tuna melt, or New England clam chowder, or tuna fish casserole . . .

I like real mayo, pepper, dill relish, onion, cucumber, celery, tomato and shredded cheese or as stated above sour dough bread and pepper jack cheese. And the tuna in water not oil. Ewe.

tuna, avocado, tomato, cheese, nothing else.

    mayo/miracle whip is disgusting.

I gotta hit the our basic tuna casserole with some hot sauce.

There was a recipe in an old issue of Deep for Tuna Pasta. I thought that one was pretty damn good.

I don't make melts too often but usually rock tuna salad. I use avocado instead of mayo, add some apple, celery, walnut, mustard, cumin, and pickle juice. Shit's delicious.
