well dont know if u think this is hippy crap but what i can gather is that due to contracts to play the festivals they cant play any where else in the UK in the same yr!!!!

so just keep ur eyes peeled for 2007 !

Thats not true, lots of bands are headlining festivals this year (radiohead, Morrissey) plus bands who've headlined Leeds and Reading in the past and done UK tours the same year.

Sorry, maybe PJ just think if they do a festival the fans will all come to see them there.

If so, it's usually a 3-month deal. Not a whole fuckin year.

yeah but the 3-months covers the period they're in Europe.

If we show them a great time in Dublin and at Reading/Leeds and in the rest of Europe, they'll WANT to come back and finish Europe properly next year...if we're dull they'll just stay home.

So lets show them how much we need them!! :D

God I wish people would stop moaning on this board. Every other fucking thread is about them not playing somewhere or other. They can't possibly play every fucking city in every country!!! Face it, some countries get left out every once in a while, that's the price you pay for following such a huge band

Begs the question why they bothered playing festivals. I know I know...Who am I to say where the band should and shouldn't play. I just don't buy this contract thing. Would PJ really have agreed to this? I personally think its the new label wanting them to get their music to a broader audience through a Festival appearance.

the festival contract thing was something i read on here , so i dont know anything really.

but sometimes it's more complex behind the sences then we realise !

Dublin and Reading i'm happy with and then getting to see them next year too :p

well thats just fucking ACE instead of waiting another 6 years ! :D

I hope they do come back next year. Personally I hope they play a few different cities though, not just London. They should try and play places like, oh I don't know, Birmingham :D

But after Astoria, Dublin and Reading I think I'll cope if they don't :)
    Astoria - April 20th 2006
    Dublin - August 23rd 2006
    Reading - August 27th 2006

I'd imagine that after Oz they would go home for xmas etc, then take a month or two off. I read the interview with Stone and he said they MAY be doing more roadwork after that.
If thats true then fucking hell no show for 6 years then three trips to the UK over space of 10 months!
My two pence: Uk hasn't been 4gotten. They'll be back!!

Just wanting to settle this now.

Muse (the other headline act for Leeds/Reading) have just announced a show on the 24th of August in Edinburgh, so this talk about the band having a 'contract' to not play anymore UK dates this year is probably rubbish.
