Interesting stuff and I hope it works someday. My only concern is that we don't get to comfortable with the idea that possible new developments in energy sources means we can continue our rate of consumption unchecked. I'm all for looking for solutions AND cutting back on our rate of energy and resource consumption.

OK sorry if I'm dense on this, but how is a battery the solution to all our energy problems? Is there an assumption I'm missing here about its being charged via solar power? Also, per the blog, this solid fuel batter is very old tech -- why is it suddenly so meaningful? Is it the rare earths?
