With words not a gun just words , but the fact still remains that the mentally unstable man was able to get/buy an AK47 and 500 rounds of ammo so this time around this potentially horrific massacre was prevented ..
But we all know the next one might not be prevented even with caring words ....and the NRA has not mentioned this at all ...

thats incorrect, the only way to stop a bad man with a gun is to have a good man with agun. maybe that the problem. maybe all you need is a good woman with a voice and skills to calm people down.
  • If you hear the audio recording of the whole thing... it's one of the most gut-wrenching things I've ever heard.

that poor guy didn't want to hurt anyone but this was the only way he could think of to get the attention of people and maybe get the help he needed. And then to hear that incredible woman who has more guts than pretty much any pansy-assed member of the NRA actually talk down a potential mass murderer before a single murder took place... using nothing but... the kind words of a mother.

I mean... who needs the SWAT team when we have people like her?

It was amazing how calm she was through the ordeal, then breaking down when all was safe. What a remarkable woman - she deserves a raise! More compassion and less guns!

I listened to this on the local news last night. Its amazing how calm and collected she was. She had her head and wits about her through the entire ordeal. This woman is a hero like no other. I am sure that she didn't do this for the recognition, but I hope she gets the recognition that she deserves.

Great story! We need more like this!

Amazing outcome, but the story itself is beyond sad.

Bless that woman for her composure. I hope the prayers she said for him come back to her tenfold.

    and SHOULD!
I'm so sick of seeing all these bad guys getting all the hype. What about the good guys, or gals, for a change?
THIS is what's important. THIS is what we should be watching and applauding. Its a real shame in the first place that anyone should even have to go through something like this. But since she has, and because of her, most likely, children were saved, she is the Hero I want to see on TV.
