quick question on verona, italy show

Hi,
I am in Italy right now and was just at the Roman Arena in Verona. Did PJ play at that venue? I know it hosts opera events in the summer, but a rock show in an ancient arena? Would have been awesome if so.

    Awww i wish i'd bought one of those. We all bought the plain coloured ones for 5 euros which weren't as cool.

    Yes the Arena usually hosts also rock and pop concerts.
    Beautiful venue.
    Pj also played there in 2000 (on Touring Band DVD there are some minutes filmed there)

    I have the touring band DVD, but thought it is only from US shows. If not, what songs or parts are from Verona?

    The rain made the whole show kind of surreal. Although the other shows I attended were far more energetic and blew me away, there is something about Verona that I can't really describe. For me it was subtle, yet very powerful. At first I thought the rain would ruin everything, but it made it more special despite the fact we were soaked and cold and wet to the bones.

    And thanks to my friend Sid, I could understand what Ed was babbling on Italian :D Actually, his Italian sounded great to me.

    Magic... excellent choice of words. It really was. There was some kinda supernatural energies at work that night, it seemed with the thunder and lightning beforehand.

    I saw PJ there in 2000 and heard from a local that Pearl Jam is the first REAL rock band to ever get permission to play there ( I've never done any research to find out if what he said was true...I guess it's better that way)

    Anyway, Verona has since become one of my favorite cities in the world!

    BTW, the Hostel on the hill was incredible!!!
