Less covers in 2006

I was browsing through my bootleg collection, and I remembered "complaining" that there were too many covers in 2003. Fortunate Son, Driven To Tears, People Have The Power, Know Your Rights, You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Gimme Some Truth ... Then it was New World, Bleed For Me, American In Me and this time, apart from a couple of I Believe In Miracles, we only have the regular Baba, Crazy Mary and RITFW.
So what's your comments on that, are you glad that the band relies less on covers, or do you miss them?
Personally I prefer the originals, but I'd love to see them breaking new covers from time to time, like they did with Little Wing, Waiting On A Friend and Boys Are Back In Town.

This is just g'bye for now...
oh yeah I wish they would play the song again, I never understood the hate for that cover :(
I'm gonna listen to it right now, thanks for the reminder!

i second that!
Act Of Love to open up a show would be bad-ass, like they used to do.
i don't have a huge problem with covers. however, when 5 out of the 6 songs to close a show are covers, i think that's a shame.
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks

This tour is perfect cover-wise- you get the usuals: RITFW, Fuckin Up, Crazy Mary, Little Wing. Sounds good too me!
Oh, and more originals!!!!
Damnit, they need to start playing 40-50 song sets, then we could have our cake and eat it too!
Peace
:-p

fuck, sonic reducer!!!!! i know i'm going to miss a few that i fuckin love. but i'm just saying that why not play something from their own shit that we haven't heard in a while instead of a new cover.
especially rarer ones-such as little sister in Philly almost knocked me over
if i had my choice
i would love nothing more then a full- band Pearl Jam cover of a Springsteen classic , so may to choose from :
murder incorporated
adam raised a cain
candys room
further on ( up the road )
kittys back
streets of philadelphia
lost in the flood
thunder road
conversely, i would kill to hear Bruce cover Footsteps . Either solo, or with the E Street Band , or hell even w/ Seeger Sessions Band.
Love when the boss plays the bluesharp.

well aside from some of the springsteen songs you called classics that I wonder about this is a great idea but it would have to be something like adam raised a cain or badlands, I wouldn't want them to do Thunder Road because it's just to special to let Pj take on regardless of how good it might be. The River could be cool though

all Bruces songs are classics.
i know some were obscure , but i kept the full band concept in mind, w/ lots of guitars!
