Has talking to security helped at all? If I end up with idiot drunk frats in front of me or some broad screaming at Eddie I can't predict my reaction and I don't want to get kicked out....

I think I can predict your reaction. You'll just come here to the message board and complain about it.

Are you basing that on experience? are you one who gets tanked before the show? I'm hearing accounts of this juvenile shit and I'm hoping in a small theatre I don't have to put up with it.

The large venues I expect it...

I've read a few. People were rowdy. rowdy for a "guy with a guitar" show at least. but again, what are YOU going to do? you can't just start throwing haymakers.

Thats not my approach...thats why I asked about security. At a recent accoustic show I did see security intervene. But I'm sure that will vary from venue to venue...hoping Milwaukee and Chicago (doubt it) will be different.

On Friday night, there were two girls about 3 rows behind where I was sitting. They were talking non-stop, and only really paid attention when Ed was playing PJ songs. It got pretty bad, and a couple guys behind us told them, rather politely, to please quiet down. The girls didn't listen, and continued having their conversation. They were also yelling random things in between songs, "Eddie, will you marry me....have my baby" blah blah blah

Eventually, a guy behind us stood up and said "are these two bothering anyone else?" Everybody answered yes. He went to get security and they came over and warned the two girls to quiet down. One of them got mouthy and kept saying, "this is a fucking concert, don't tell me to quiet down"

Security removed them immediately. The rest of the show was fine.

So, yes, security will help out if you want to take the time to get them.

When I was at an R.E.M. concert a couple of months ago a guy next to me repeatedly yelled, (very low, frat guy style) "BIG BOOOOOOOOOOOOOY!... BIG BOOOOOOOOY!" at Michael Stipe. I didn't try to stop him because it was hilariously stupid to me.
