I need George! I have a lot of cards to trade, stickers, posters (all of the Wrigley posters except Ames, and lots of older posters), and/or $. Bring George to a nice home where he will be cherished and displayed with his favorite band mates.

I'll trade my Cracker Jack poster for George and some other cards!

Yea, but most of us here are a bit crazy!
I have an extra of the posters, so I'll take an extra of something I need for something someone else needs!

Thanks for the bump, now how about a George for me?!

Several people have offered me George for the Cracker Jack. If anyone is willing to do two Georges for the Cracker Jack, or George + some other cards for my beloved Cracker Jack then I can do it! Thanks a lot for the PMs.
  • Is it just me or should you honor your original post? The way it works here is first come first serve. This was a generous trade on your behalf but as u stated, it was worth it for you. Not, oh, well ill start taking offers. its clearly not what this forum, built on brotherhood, is about. if you want to help a like minded brother, bless you, if not, there's that 10% monster they call Ebay. In other words, be a man or woman, and honor your post. Yes maybe im a little burnt after kinda the same thing happened to me on a benny earlier this week. I hope everyone is happy who is involved with this deal now :D

I'm new to this particular forum, so I apologize if I am not doing something right. I am trying to do something fair for both sides, and not trying to profit. I'm trying to complete a set for framing for my personal collection. I'm trying to complete a second set to auction for a charity that Ed supports, Heal EB. If I am not posting the offer/request correctly then I'll delete the thread. Otherwise, I'll just shut up now, and PM with people.

don't give up the poster for that card. im sure one will pop up eventually. just hang in there

edit: kinda funny how your original post most certainly contradicts your username

I think the OP is being more than fair to the point of being taken advantage of. The card is worth nowhere near the Cracker Jack print and the OP may not know it. If the OP wants to make the deal knowing this then so be it, but I otherwise don't think she should be locked in to this when those cards have been traded about for modest exchanges since the show. Good luck.

    Tough crowd this morbing.

I don't know the OP, but I don't think they were trying to be deception or run an auction.

In my opinion, as long as 2 parties didn't both agree to a deal, she can change her offer.

I understand what you are saying and agree that backing out of a deal is shady.

I don't think that the OP was trying to be dishonest and based on her post I was assuming that she did not back out of an agreed-to deal.

To make it clear, I did not back out of any deal!
I have had communication with a few very nice people, and Greatplainsman is not involved. I'm sorry if I did something that rubbed him the wrong way. No bad intent, and I am a person of integrity.
If any of the people I communicated with thinks I have been dishonest in any way, then I am sure they will post that here - and I wouldn't mind it. That is just not what is happening.
I want to be fair both ways, period. I know the Cracker Jacks are valuable. I have an extra. I am willing to trade it for some cards, including a George - if I'm getting the bad end of the deal from a $ standpoint, ok, make it fair and we'll both be happy.

I am going to try to update my request for the George Webb and other cards tomorrow, but I am going through things and found a LOAD of great posters I have available to trade, particularly from 2003 through the present.
I can provide photos upon PM request so I can email them to you.
I'll provide a list with a new post, hopefully tomorrow.

Meanwhile, if anyone has any George Webb for trade with other cards, let me know by PM. I am trying to complete two complete sets - one for me and one for a charity donation. Thanks a lot!

Not sure what people are calling her out for, "no auctions" means for money when selling items. When you are offering a trade, it's completely a different story. Even in the sense that when you're working out a trade with someone, you may go back and forth with that person or throw something else in to make the trade work. So you can't relate an auction to a trade. Completely fine what she's doing. People can offer her trades all day and she can take what she wants. If it was money, it would be a no-no, but that's it.

I think the auction he is referring to was where the OP solicited an offer for one card and when multiple people offered the one card she then solicited offers to top the original offer. Pretty much how an auction works.

Very sorry to cause such a stir. I never raised my request on anyone when an offer was made, and I specifically turned down $, as the people I communicated with know. Anyway, I made a trade with a very nice guy on here, who can name himself and comment on my dealings if he wants: my Cracker Jack and three cards for his Web, a couple of stickers and a few more of his cards. Now I'm closer to completing my personal set.

Next I am going to complete a set that I will sell on an auction site and donate ALL the proceeds to one of Ed's causes, Heal EB. So, I need one more Webb to accomplish that. I am going to try to list what I have available to trade later this week, but basically, I have the other Chicago posters, many from the 2003 tour and 2004 Vote For Change tour, and cards to trade for Webb AND some other cards. I also need the Ed holding the guitar horizontally over his head.

    If interested, please PM.

Ironic. Integrity also means not taking advantage of the OP.

I agree with Mr. No Way.

Um...I think you're wrong, because if you were right, this thread would have been locked already. They may end up locking now due to all the bickering though.

Haha, dude you're proving my point! I know the rules of the forum and the link you provided, again only proves my point. It says seller must set a "reasonable price". How can a "price" be set in a trade with no cash involved? It isn't saying the figurative use of the word like, "wow, he really paid the price". It's in the literal use, like cost/cash.

I mean, can someone back me up here? I have no skin in the game here, so I'm not sure why I'm arguing this, but somebody please back me up.

And again, if mods were not ok with trades in this sense, I'm really assuming they would have locked this thread by now. I could see them not noticing it on a Sunday, but a full Monday has passed.

I'm cool with it if we agree to disagree.
