leg 1 and leg 2 poster pool & giveaway to help elwayvedder

wondering if there would be any interest in something like this

25 shows

25 people ( all of whom are going to a particular show this tour) select one show that they know they will be able to buy at least 1 poster at that show for this pool

before the first show of the first leg, all 25 members who have picked one show to represent, must select 23 songs that they think will be played at the show they are representing

best percentage of songs they get correct wins

tie breaking procedure would include one extra percentage point for getting opening song correct
and then would go to :
most correct out of first 12 songs
most correct out of first 10 songs
most correct out of first 7 songs
most correct out of first 5 songs
most correct out of first 4 songs
most correct out of first 3 songs
most correct out of first 2 songs



payout would look like this:

1st place wins their 5 favorites from the tour
2nd place wins their 4 favorites from the tour
3rd place wins their 3 favorites from the tour
4th place wins their 2 favorites from the tour

this would probably be done by the winner picking one first, the the second place picking one, and so on and so on

all who do not come in 1st through 4th would be responsible for mailing the poster they bought at the show they selected, to one of the winners

until there are 11 unselected posters


11 works out perfect because 11-11 is veterans day

the owners of the 11 not selected would be responsible for mailing their posters to elwayvedder as a donation for his tireless work in his "support the troops" donations and give-aways


if it's a go, i select worcester 1 as my show

    First, pick a show from the upcoming tour that you are going to attend.



    Try and guess 23 songs they will play at the show you go to.


    Then, buy at least 1 poster for that same show.

    Some will win many posters, some will donate a poster for a great cause.

    A couple thoughts

    We could pick a date at which point anyone who has a show, could select another show that they arr attending to help fill every slot. Then that person would be responsible 2 posters, and selecting 2 sets of 23 songs.

    We could allow more than 1 person to claim a show. That would means more posters to the winners and possibly elwayvedder. It would still come down to best percentage.

    Do we let people edit their picks after they are poste in thread?

    I say we wait until it gets closer (we still have a little less than 2 months) to open it to same person, multiple shows. It will fill up, it is a good idea for a good cause.

    I do not think we should be able to edit picks. Once submitted they are final after the established cutoff date. If you can edit them, it would become advantageous to pick the second night of a show in the same town (ie LA2, Brooklyn2) as you then have a better idea of the next night's setlist.

    Part of the fun is going to be the guessing game of which lightning bolt songs are going to be played almost every night, without hearing the album beforehand most likely.

    I assume all picks would need to be in before the Pittsburgh show for both legs?

    I'd be willing to take two shows thus committing to buying two posters for the pool and writing two setlist entries (one for each show). I think it might get unnecessarily complicated if you allow more than one person to choose the same show. I think the set list entries must all be in before the tour opens and can't be edited once submitted. There's time yet I think it will fill in. I was planning on buying a poster for elwayvedder anyway. Since I'm not really a poster collector, if I win I would donate my winnings. (Though i tend to suck at guessing set lists :lol: )It's a great cause. Come on everybody, let's make this happen!
