I think most will answer with the one they're going to, which happens to be Seattle for me.. so... Seattle!!

For the longest time I put myself in the mindset that "the only great/epic/memorable PJ shows are in the Northeast or just cities like Boston or Philly." I'm starting to come out of that. While those shows do tend to be great, many other shows are good and just as wonderful because of the band themselves, this band brings an energy and something special to almost every show. Very few shows ever look to be phoned in, something like pink pop 00 where something was really up with Ed. I'm betting both Baltimore and Charlottesville will receive a wild ride, just as Hartford or Worcester does. Who would have thought Charlotte, the largest arena on the tour, would be close to selling out at this point? It will be a good tour.
2008: Bonnaroo
2010: Bristow
2012: Atlanta
2013: Charlottesville, Charlotte
2014: Cincinnati
2016: Greenville, Hampton, Raleigh (cancelled), Columbia, Lexington
I think it will be the Spokane show. This is a new arena and one if their goals for 2013 was to bring Pearl Jam . Matt Gibson read about their goals and brought it up to the band and they said yes!! I think it will be special. Here is the article.
Too many shows to list: From my first show in Hawaii when they opened for RHCP to upcoming 2016 MSG and Wrigley. Seen them in every continent except Africa and Antarctica.
Philly shows ALWAYS deliver but I believe Baltimore will be the diamond in the rough.

The truth is any show can be epic.
Bonnaroo was a festival, strike one, and in the middle of tennessee, strike two. But in the end it turned out to be one of the best shows ever.
Newark, Straight up north east, amazingly rare setlist, and still, dead crowd and shitty weather ended up being not so epic... see my point?
You cant predict it. It depends on the crowd, the band, the mood, everything. Lots of things can make or break a show. Someone could say that show sucked while someone in better seats surrounded by awesome fans would say the same show was amazing.
given the dead 10C crowd in the best seats in the house at Vancouver 2011 and EV calling em out...I'm expecting the GA pit to be ALIVE and Eddie's set list strategically set to light the GM Place crowd on fire.
My first PJ show was in GM Place, my home town, GA 10C tickets.
Seattle Key Arena two days later may be ok too
Spokane should be somewhat special too i'd guess?
Really... what PJ show attended isn't special / epic? Another thing to debate come this fall. :fp:
I like this answer because you are still calling Rogers Arena GM Place. :P I'm not over that either, lol.
Plus, I'll be there.

I have high expectations for the Pittsburgh show. For starters, it's the first show of the tour. I'm not sure how Pittsburgh managed to be selected as the opening show, but I consider myself lucky to be a part of it.
Second, their 2006 Pgh show (which was also an opening night-for the second leg of their tour that year) was ridiculously good. I hadn't seen them in awhile (yeah, yeah, I fell off the bandwagon-shame on me...) but that concert single-handedly brought me back into the PJ fold. It was beyond amazing. The set list, the crowd, the energy, whew! I literally had to be dragged out of the arena after that show!
(I was also fortunate enough to score tickets to the Buffalo show, so hopefully I will be able to form an unbiased opinion about these two shows when it's all said and done...)
"and I listen to the voice inside my head..."
1994-Cleveland, 1998-Pittsburgh, 2000-Pittsburgh, 2006-Pittsburgh, 2013-Pittsburgh, 2013-Buffalo, 2013-Charlottesville, 2016-Wrigley 1, 2018-Seattle 2, 2022-Nashville, 2022-St. Louis, 2023-St. Paul 2, 2023-Chicago 1, 2024-Philly 1, 2024-Philly 2, 2024-Baltimore, 2025-Raleigh 1, 2025-Raleigh 2, 2025-Pittsburgh 1, 2025-Pittsburgh 2
I'm going to go out on a limb, mainly because it will be the concert I'm at, and say Oakland. Being right before Thanksgiving will have everyone pumped. We get to see them at Bridge School periodically but it has been awhile since they had a full concert here. I'm ready to rock!
Surprising to say there is some talk of Brooklyn, but not nearly as much as I expected.
For the West Coast, it seems like Seattle is the only highly talked about show(s)
Now I'm not saying other cities are being completely ignored, but I'm not seeing the discussion there for them as much as others.
What do you think?
Which show are you looking forward to most and why?
:corn:
Tbh, I think it will be the Philly 2nd show. Pearl Jam does love their Philly fans and I have heard rumors about PJ23 shit happening or whatever. We will see! I will see! I'm excited!
The "problem" is that the most anticipated shows won't be the best ... maybe the best in singing or clapping or what else, but not the best in song surprises or set list.
The smaller the venue (and the smaller the crowd) the more intimity will be there, so songs like Man Of The Hour, Fatal and so on are possible.
There are a couple of shows in the past which work as examples: Prague 2006 is one of them (I haven't been there, but I wish).
I will join Phoenix till Portland, so I hope San Diego (or even Phoenix) has something special for me

What do you consider "song surprises?"
Songs where the bands is willing to play them once again after awhile f.e. those two songs mentioned above plus Parting Ways or All Those Yesterdays.
To me there are 5 steps of PJ setlist songs:
1 Always played - GTF, Even Flow, Alive ...
2 Mostly played - DTE, Just breathe, Yellow ledbetter ...
3 Sometimes played - Lukin, Severed hand, Black, ...
4 Rarely played - SEE ABOVE
5 Very rarely or even never played - Otherside, Leaving here, ...
Brooklyn or Dallas. 10 yrs not in Texas and Dallas crowd needs to represent.
Oh, don't worry. They will!
I couldn't agree more, Dallas will go wild - especially since GA hasn't happened since '98 (I think) when they played Reunion Arena. I am looking forward to a very special setlist . No matter what, they'll be on top of their game here and it'll just be pure magic.
