Something that made me like Mind Your Manners more...

So when I first heard Mind Your Manners, I kind of had the same opinion that I soon after read a lot of on here... "fake punk," similar style to STBC and Comatose, I thought it was better than Ole but then realized that it had a lot of the same structure as Ole, down to the chant at the end, etc... I didn't necessarily like it, but I didn't hate it either.

Then at Wrigley, I met up with an old friend who I haven't seen since 2007 (we realized that was the last time he was in town because I told him, "I remember you telling me about Into the Wild and Hard Sun, but I hadn't heard the single yet," and he said that was a good way to measure time, ha). He told me something that stuck and made me listen to MYM with a very different set of ears ever since--

"Mind Your Manners sounds like Iron Maiden."

And now I like it! And not because I like or listen to Iron Maiden... it just made me realize it might not be all those things I thought it was the first few times I heard it, and now I don't THINK of Iron Maiden when I hear it, but I hear a completely different attitude in the song, especially with the music, thanks to him.
