George Duke Just passed on. 
George was a great musician who played with some of the greats, inlcuding Miles Davis, Billy Cobham, and Frank Zappa. His death comes as a shock to me as this is a man who worked 365 days a year, and I had no idea that he was ill. I had been waiting and waiting in recent years for a chance to see GD live. Sadly this will never happen now.
Please check out Frank Zappa Inca Roads to hear George sing and play, and then check out anything that Billy Cobham and George Duke did together, and get ready to be FUNKED OVER!

The more it sinks in that GD is gone the harder it is to take. I never got to see GD perform in person but just from the clips all over youtube and all the Zappa footage I've seen, GD comes across as a positive human being. His warmth can be felt through his music, but you also get the sense that warmth translated into his everyday life.
Could someone please post a link for Inca Roads, so those who aren't aware of his greatness with Zappa can have a peek.
